The Potato Kingdom isn't canon to the mainline Mario games. Princess Peach also got married in a DIFFERENT alternate continuity to Prince Haru of the Flower Kingdom (in the 1986 OVA "Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach!"). The whole mainline Super Mario series is confirmed by Miyamoto to be stories performed by actors anyway (first mentioned when discussing the curtains at the end of Super Mario Bros. 3 stages), so none of their characters are ACTUALLY who they are. hey hey hey hey hey hey hey resin 1. dry that leaf. too much moisture and the plant material will just mold and rot inside the resin. you can find bulk fine-grain dessicant powder for flower dehydration in craft stores and online. 2. use a good mold. a lot of the stuff you can find duplicates of online under three dozen alphabet-soup brand names are just copies of copies of copies, and have terrible surfaces that require a ton of polishing afterwards. you can make your own mold too if the shape is too weird, but obviously that'll be more work. 3. anchor the piece. liquid resin is dense, plant material likes to float, nothing worse than a unique object ruining itself. strategically-placed dabs of UV-cure resin work pretty well. superglue bonds with silicone molds and makes a mess. 4. use an appropriate resin. some will undergo weird structural deformations if poured too thick. if pour depth is exceeding 1cm, look for a Deep Pour resin. Multi-part resins have limited shelf life once opened and need some accuracy when measuring. UV cure resin tends to be a lot more expensive but can be more straightforward to work with. 5. degas degas degas. bubbles like to stick to mold and object surfaces, and don't like to rise out of thick resins. either have Gear to deal with this (pressure pot or vacuum chamber), or be ready to manually poke around in the pour with a toothpick or bit of wire to manually dislodge bubbles and bring them to the surface. surface bubbles can be popped with a lighter or mini-torch or heat gun, but don't do more than quick passes, or the resin might speed-cure and fuck things up. thicker resins won't release suspended microbubbles on their own, but thinner resins will. using some form of mold release can help to prevent bubbles from adhering to surfaces, but prevents anchoring of a piece. 6. wear a chemical respirator. wear gloves. work over a non-permeable mat in case there's spills or drips. if any gets on skin, wash with soap and water. rubbing alcohol is fine for tool cleanup but apparently makes liquid resin more permeable through skin. 7. do a test run with some expendable object first, get the process down, get any snags in the process out of the way. the helpfulness of video content is... uh... well. at least the one video of a japanese giant hornet being encapsulated is pretty good.

My view on ai generated art is that people seem to think it will stop people making art and I think thats silly. People will always make art and there will always be people that staunchly stand by hand made goods despite mass production being cheaper and more readily available. That's just how humanity is.

There will always be a market, people just need to stop relying on corporations to provide it and seek smaller communities where people actually care about them. Also the day that an ai can produce a full manga with an interesting story and dynamic art style is the day I'll get a job as an ai's pet. Like ai does have its limits. My phone background is abstract art that an ai made but I still spent £90 on the artists alley at my local convention buying indie comics.

1. dry that leaf. too much moisture and the plant material will just mold and rot inside the resin. you can find bulk fine-grain dessicant powder for flower dehydration in craft stores and online.
2. use a good mold. a lot of the stuff you can find duplicates of online under three dozen alphabet-soup brand names are just copies of copies of copies, and have terrible surfaces that require a ton of polishing afterwards. you can make your own mold too if the shape is too weird, but obviously that'll be more work.
3. anchor the piece. liquid resin is dense, plant material likes to float, nothing worse than a unique object ruining itself. strategically-placed dabs of UV-cure resin work pretty well. superglue bonds with silicone molds and makes a mess.
4. use an appropriate resin. some will undergo weird structural deformations if poured too thick. if pour depth is exceeding 1cm, look for a Deep Pour resin. Multi-part resins have limited shelf life once opened and need some accuracy when measuring. UV cure resin tends to be a lot more expensive but can be more straightforward to work with.
5. degas degas degas. bubbles like to stick to mold and object surfaces, and don't like to rise out of thick resins. either have Gear to deal with this (pressure pot or vacuum chamber), or be ready to manually poke around in the pour with a toothpick or bit of wire to manually dislodge bubbles and bring them to the surface.
surface bubbles can be popped with a lighter or mini-torch or heat gun, but don't do more than quick passes, or the resin might speed-cure and fuck things up.
thicker resins won't release suspended microbubbles on their own, but thinner resins will.
using some form of mold release can help to prevent bubbles from adhering to surfaces, but prevents anchoring of a piece.
6. wear a chemical respirator. wear gloves. work over a non-permeable mat in case there's spills or drips. if any gets on skin, wash with soap and water. rubbing alcohol is fine for tool cleanup but apparently makes liquid resin more permeable through skin.
7. do a test run with some expendable object first, get the process down, get any snags in the process out of the way. the helpfulness of video content is... uh... well. at least the one video of a japanese giant hornet being encapsulated is pretty good.

My view on ai generated art is that people seem to think it will stop people making art and I think thats silly. People will always make art and there will always be people that staunchly stand by hand made goods despite mass production being cheaper and more readily available. That's just how humanity is.

@@mynameiskrysta and I stand by that there will always be people that pay for art even if some people won't. People still buy handmade handbags despite them being hella expensive. There will always be a market, people just need to stop relying on corporations to provide it and seek smaller communities where people actually care about them.
Also the day that an ai can produce a full manga with an interesting story and dynamic art style is the day I'll get a job as an ai's pet. Like ai does have its limits. My phone background is abstract art that an ai made but I still spent £90 on the artists alley at my local convention buying indie comics.
