That's actualy the definition of cooling.
The pillow takes away you're body heat, but of course until the pillow gets as warm as you're body.

Yes but there are better and worse pillows that hold they’re cool longer and you can rotate your pillow the top will be cold when it gets warm after a while rotate again and that side you originally were on is now cold again
