wow you found some real shark eyes shells beautiful...............im disabled so i get to travel with you...........and see the ocean and sand and sea shells........just awesome...........again thank you so much for sharing with us..........
Thank you for the most interesting walk of a place I have never heard of. I am a vacation sheller and base my vacation on shelling places this is now on my list thank you so much for the info. I look forward to our next place.
Hey Mitzi! I hope you are able to one day check out this location! My recommendation would be to visit in the off season, otherwise you may encounter many sun bathers and beach goers!
Thank you for sharing your adventures! I especially enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings of the beach and the ocean that you share! Your posts aren’t just visually beautiful but educationally informative as well! 💙🙏 🐚
So lucky!! I finally took myself to the beach after 15 years… hadn’t been since I was 15.. my most prized possessions of that day are 2 baby olives and tons of broken shark eyes
Hi Brittany, my parent's took me to Miami Beach when I was 12 years old and that's what really started it all for me. I found a few beat up shells in the trough where the waves hit the sand - this was 25 years ago. Thanks for coming along on the adventure and I hope you are able to find time to get to the beach in the future!
@@solaceinshelling6552 I used to vacation all the time as a kid in Fort Lauderdale.. I actually have a few from my last trip there at 14-15 and a absolutely gorgeous sand dollar that my brother found for my mom
LOL! I do have an assortment of shell bags, but generally I go out without the intention of collecting but rather just showing what I find to my camera(hence why shells are always in my hand!)
The shell you can’t identify looks like an apple snail. However, apple snails in Florida are found in marshes or canals so I am also curious. Loved all the shark eyes/moon snails.
I recently found a Welk that was almost as big as my hand at Gilgo Beach. A little damaged on the underside but it is the best sea shell I have ever found! ~Regina~
Hey Tommie, this was filmed back in March 😊 I plan my filming pretty far out in advance as best I can. Many times the content you'll see was filmed weeks or months previous.
Is this the same in the summer months? I'm planning on going there soon for a Saturday and don't want to waste hours driving there if not. And is there parking?
Hi friend, this was filmed at the entrance to the national seashore. There's plenty of parking, but I would imagine it would be very busy during the summer months with everyone from Long Island and New York City accessing the beach. You can walk eastward down the beach and it gets pretty remote - most beach goers will set up shop on the beach access nearest parking. Happy shelling!
@solaceinshelling6552 I'm just reading this now. I actually did go and brought my kids and we loved it! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful place with all of us ❤️
Hola! Me gustan tanto tus videos. 😊
Hey Jenni! I think you may be referring to the Yellow and White thin snails here... it looks like they actually might be freshwater snails called Apple Snails! How they ended up on a beach like this is beyond me! I believe Tun shells are more exclusive to warmer water regions, but you never know what will wash up!
Hello! I think you are right. These snails definitely have a thinner shell and look like a freshwater snail, but yeah not sure how they arrived where they did!

The scallops are so beautiful
I saw some beautiful scallops. I like dog walks as well.
The sand is so beautiful it look purple/pink
Is some of the sand pink? It sometimes looks pink. That’s lovely! Thank you for taking us virtual shelling!! 😁🩵🐚💕
There appears to definitely be traces of garnet in this sand in some places - which gives it the reddish hue! 💙
A black moon snail😱 and the blue seaglass.
M in love with those two
Yes! I was particularly enamored by that really dark moonsnail too! Thanks for watching!
the two round shells,,,,, are false shark eyes..........moon snail................i love your videos,,,,,and music.............
There are so many pretty pebbles there, I'd be totally weighed down by pockets filled with them!
Thank you so much for watching!

Do you carry a shell bag? They are the best!! Your hands are always full! 😂

I think you are right - not sure how in heck they could have ended up there though?
Love the unidentifiable and the shark eyes. They are huge! 🤗🐚🐚🐚🐚

Beautiful shells. I also love the color of the sand.
Hi Lisa, that red sand is amazing huh? Thanks for watching!
Looks like I’m gonna have to make a trip soon!
Totally worth it!

I love HUGE whelk shells!
Really nice finds!!
Thanks for watching Debra!
Could it be a juvenile Northern Moon Snail? Stay safe!
I think it actually may be some sort of fresh water snail!
Appreciate the insight and thanks for watching!
Which part of Fire Island are you combing through?
Hi, this is the Mastic Beach area.
Thanks for watching!
What was the temperature? You have a heavy jacket and its the 4th of July!

May be you should bring a bag of some sort with you for the shells that’s what shell hunters do 😊
Hello Easter! One of my close friends got me a personalized shell bag that I'll be using more often!
@@solaceinshelling6552 glad to hear that 😊 what a lovely friend you have 🥰

Yes, it’s a moon snail, called a Shark eye. Their found in Florida, a lot.

You need to carry a large shell bag.
It's great advice!
Sorry to correct you but that New England dog whelk is a three line mudsnail
I appreciate the feedback on the ID, friend!
🤩🤩🤩💖💖
Apple cherry moonsnail
Is it in the tun family!

I think its not a Moon snail, its an Apple Snail. Its a fresh water/marshes snail. Maybe come to beach thanks a storm or a river.

I think that’s an apple snail shell.
Thanks for the ID my friend...and thanks for watching!
