    This series looks so uplifting and beautiful. This is the type of stuff TLC's broadcast should mostly consist of. Not reality mess that doesn't teach you anything.

    Hello everybody, I have 4 kids and the oldest has asperger...
    I am happy to say he has the most amazing brain I've ever been in contact with plus, he is my only son so, I think he is awesome! I rather deal with persons like this than any other. They are true, smart, driven and make me proud to be part of the human race.

    You know one of the things in in human nature of virtue I think that is overlooked occasionally is a resilience and our ability to adapt in the face of adversity sometimes it actually brings out an aptitude that otherwise may have never surfaced I know that some of my stumbling blocks in life felt like a burden at times but ultimately sort of bore me out because I had to compensate for it it always gave me that counterbalance it's all very relatable and and touching the story it's just part of the experience you know we all have our crosses to bear and it seems as though if you can do it with a positive attitude you got a pretty decent advantage on a lot of folks dissatisfaction in their r life is because they're not taking account of all the good things they do have presently why not to but look for the reasons why

    FYI - megan was never in college. The whole college thing for someone like megan who can't even add 2+2 is just ridiculous anyway. It's 100%
    For their self-esteem. They want to go to college like normal kids, but instead of telling them they are capable of taking college classes, they just call classes on using a washing machine "college". But I am positive Megan never went to college. In an interview she was asked about her college classes and she had no idea where she had gone to college or what classes she took. So it must have been pretty worthwhile.

    They all seem pretty high functioning to me. What about the more severely disabled ones, are they not "good enough" for the show or something? I'm getting annoyed imagining how they picked the cast. "nope, can't go with this one, he can't talk well enough"

    • @toyabermudez2523
      @toyabermudez2523 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      mog dor I agree. Very high functioning people with DS

      mog dor
      I’m sure it’s more of the high functioning ones. Although like my Jesse, he won’t ever function on his own. But he is such a loving blessing to our family.
      I would really hate to hear they declined someone ugly.
      Hoping it was...
      “Hard to choose the ones we need for this season. But we only have ‘X’ amount of spots”
      Or something like that.

    • @astrea4020

      I mean if they are very severe odds are they wouldn't like having random people shove cameras in their faces all the time. It would freak them out. Use your common sense.

      It wasn't until after this show aired that I began to question the ethics of these networks. Because then came the little people shows, then even further into the little people who are morbidly obese; then these shows with these religious nuts who've had litters of children and shows with a man who has all these sister wives. TLC especially has become the digital Times Square circa 1974 when you had the homeless people, the addicts, the hookers, the Jesus people, the insane....
