Lots of really good players in this matchup! I regret not fully commiting to my attack on Dantheman early. Later on, no unit combo I was making could stop Dansil's howdah and tiger combo unfortunately. Also couldn't convince Dansil to team up with me against Dantheman, so I was doomed either way. Overall proud of my performance.
Willywag here (Purple) The only thing that was wrecking me, was the 50 range mortars and 3 tanky explorers. I would start winning a battle and all of sudden my buildings are getting bombarded from so far off screen that I had no way of reaching the mortars. So regardless if I was winning every fight against orange, the mortars and the 3 spongey explorers just kept triggering me thoughout the match because there was little I could do. If the mortar range card and the explorers card was banned for next year, I believe ports are fair.

Dude next year can you conceal their name? Because they just rush or grouped against the best player Again and again. Same thing happened two years ago in the final. 3 people grouped against the timthetatman. Yeah we know it is ffa but this is just too much pressure to handle and not fun to watch at all. Dont like it when people try to rush across the map just to harass the best player.

@dansil92 i completely agree with you about Danielek, he got 3 timed here, so didn't get a chance to show his skill, he played well in group stages. you were in the final last year, can you honestly say this year's tournament was better, scratch that, even close to last year, if yes, then i got nothing else to say rather than i'm Sorry to bother to even post a comment here. All the players this year were skilled...but FFA can make the most perfect of plans look like absolute flops. However, I think you've got part of a point here. We definitely had some slower segments this year where we watched musk after musk be sent in or a comically long Sioux standoff. But we did have some interesting rushes (some that went haywire) and some very powerful unit comps. I think what can frequently become stale with these is the long-term planning that players put in. We can see that from the very beginning when Sam goes through the decks and often time says "pretty standard late-game deck". This essentially sets the game up for a long fist fight where players can sometimes get too focused (or even fatigued) to start poking a flank or tossing in a horse cav. But I think you alluded towards something that would be SUPER nice to see which is the chat. Backstabbing, double/triple teaming, negotiations, these are the things that can spice up a FFA. Seeing alliances made and shattered, bounties placed on ports, and the random banter between competitors is something we get to see in the weekly streams when Sam is in the FFA but we don't get to see in recordings. Maybe I'm alone here, but I think there was probably some interesting comments made throughout these games. Food for thought Sorry for my blabbering :P

why would you ban certain cards from certain civs? just let people come up with a counter to ports? why do people complain about mortars and forget that ports don't have falconetes like other civs, organ guns suck at sieging compared to falconetes and have low range, it's a trade-off
Im getting so triggered when ppl dont team up on ports, that civ is just so extremely disgusting it deserves its place in the "things you dont say GG to". Please just ban it from the next FFA, since its so much more broken than the instant french cav in late game FFA.
