Oh I wish they kept the original dialogue, that would have been perfect, but I'm also very happy that they translated, it made it easier to understand the dialogue. XD

But if they kept the original dialogue...it may put viewers to sleep XD What was great about the dub of this anime is that they try to get it as closest to the original play, AND have it scripted in the old English with the Thous and the Thees. If you hear it in Japanese, it won't have the same effect as it is in English :) The anime have it's flaws, and that's when we can look back at the original Romeo and Juliet, and say "The book was better," XD
O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? this moment where Juliet is calling for Romeo from the balcony gives us such hope that this tale will end happy even if you know that it wont for a moment you believe that maybe these two lovers will live happily ever after
I usually don’t like it when they take liberties with the Japanese script for dubs, but if they had altered the dialogue with that of the play, I would have been more forgiving. I’m not saying this is a bad dub or nothing, it’s just that I can’t fathom the existence of a work of Shakespeare that doesn’t retain the original dialogue.
