If you want someone predictable to slow the game down, take too many touches, never beat his marker, and play safe little passes sideways and backwards time and time again, then you should definitely start Grealish. I would recommend.

It’s only the first game of the season and I know they beat Atlanta in the UEFA Super Cup final, but based off of that performance in the first half and their 1-1 draw against Mallorca, anyone who watched those games would notice some of the problems that Real Madrid are going to have this season irrespective of how much talent they have on paper. In both of those games, a front 3 of Kylian Mbappe Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo all started and they have combined for some of the goals they’ve scored and when looking at that attack, on paper, it’s very lethal, but at the same time, there are question marks as to how is it all going to work out tactically. The issue that Carlo Ancelotti has in their team is not just trying to get used to playing without Toni Kroos and being able to minimize counter attacks, they need to have the right sort of balance when it comes to building up their attack. When you have 3 players on the same pitch that are all comfortable whenever they play off the left and they’re all right footed, in that regard it’s a bit of an issue because they’re all going to stay on one side and one of them will be used in a position that doesn’t suit them out of those 3, 2 of them won’t really track back and put in the work on defense which could leave them vulnerable against better teams and also it’s going to leave the right side very weak because Valverde when he goes forward, he’s going to rely on Carvajal to overlap him if he’s on the right side and for the overall balance of the team I don’t see how it works. What should Ancelotti do, all 3 of them are genuinely too good to be on the bench, Mbappe and Vini in particular are going to play regardless of fitness and form and I have a feeling that Rodrygo could be the odd man out in a sense that if he sees that having them on the pitch together is impacting the balance of the team, what he could do is use the formation that worked last season a diamond and play Bellingham as a number 10 behind Mbappe and Vini and then Camavinga would play as a left midfielder when he’s fit or someone like Modric will play a lot particularly in big matches to give them more control in midfield. Here’s the thing, Bellingham is an excellent midfielder, but he’s not really a number 10, he’s more of a proper midfielder than an attacking midfielder and just because he scored goals further up the pitch last season, it doesn’t mean that it’s his best position. Another ideal solution could be to play Arda Guler because he’s one of the only creative players on that Real Madrid team and him being a right winger who’s left footed and plays like a number 10 from a footballing perspective, he would complement Mbappe and Vini better than Rodrygo. Him making a big decision on what he should do in a situation where he believes that tactically it’s not their best attack, he’ll drop someone and the sign of an elite manager is when they pick the right player for the position rather than pick the best 11 players since football isn’t FIFA, don’t expect success to happen overnight just because they have the best players. This isn’t the time to overreact and say that “Mbappe has made Real Madrid worse tactically since we can’t beat Mallorca with him in the team, they never needed him, he always needed them, Ancelotti get out of my club, this superteam won’t work out etc” because it’s only the first game of the season and the signs are kinda worry since they didn’t play well today, it’s not the end of the world since the season is very long and I wasn’t wrong when I said that in order for them to all gel, they need to balance out the individual brilliance and the collective unit of the team

Today, high speed travel, private jet planes etc. Each player has GPS and Health monitors that staff review & evaluate and in real time. Increased squad sizes and more players available for selection. Now 5 subs so rotation available within in each match. Its about MINUTES played not games played. IE 2 games per week and player can play 60 then 30 = 90 total. Its up to the manager/staff/medical to regulate minutes played AND mitigate risks.

It’s only the first game of the season and I know they beat Atlanta in the UEFA Super Cup final, but based off of that performance in the first half and their 1-1 draw against Mallorca, anyone who watched those games would notice some of the problems that Real Madrid are going to have this season irrespective of how much talent they have on paper. In both of those games, a front 3 of Kylian Mbappe Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo all started and they have combined for some of the goals they’ve scored and when looking at that attack, on paper, it’s very lethal, but at the same time, there are question marks as to how is it all going to work out tactically. The issue that Carlo Ancelotti has in their team is not just trying to get used to playing without Toni Kroos and being able to minimize counter attacks, they need to have the right sort of balance when it comes to building up their attack. When you have 3 players on the same pitch that are all comfortable whenever they play off the left and they’re all right footed, in that regard it’s a bit of an issue because they’re all going to stay on one side and one of them will be used in a position that doesn’t suit them out of those 3, 2 of them won’t really track back and put in the work on defense which could leave them vulnerable against better teams and also it’s going to leave the right side very weak because Valverde when he goes forward, he’s going to rely on Carvajal to overlap him if he’s on the right side and for the overall balance of the team I don’t see how it works.
What should Ancelotti do, all 3 of them are genuinely too good to be on the bench, Mbappe and Vini in particular are going to play regardless of fitness and form and I have a feeling that Rodrygo could be the odd man out in a sense that if he sees that having them on the pitch together is impacting the balance of the team, what he could do is use the formation that worked last season a diamond and play Bellingham as a number 10 behind Mbappe and Vini and then Camavinga would play as a left midfielder when he’s fit or someone like Modric will play a lot particularly in big matches to give them more control in midfield. Here’s the thing, Bellingham is an excellent midfielder, but he’s not really a number 10, he’s more of a proper midfielder than an attacking midfielder and just because he scored goals further up the pitch last season, it doesn’t mean that it’s his best position. Another ideal solution could be to play Arda Guler because he’s one of the only creative players on that Real Madrid team and him being a right winger who’s left footed and plays like a number 10 from a footballing perspective, he would complement Mbappe and Vini better than Rodrygo. Him making a big decision on what he should do in a situation where he believes that tactically it’s not their best attack, he’ll drop someone and the sign of an elite manager is when they pick the right player for the position rather than pick the best 11 players since football isn’t FIFA, don’t expect success to happen overnight just because they have the best players. This isn’t the time to overreact and say that “Mbappe has made Real Madrid worse tactically since we can’t beat Mallorca with him in the team, they never needed him, he always needed them, Ancelotti get out of my club, this superteam won’t work out etc” because it’s only the first game of the season and the signs are kinda worry since they didn’t play well today, it’s not the end of the world since the season is very long and I wasn’t wrong when I said that in order for them to all gel, they need to balance out the individual brilliance and the collective unit of the team
