Rainbows are sweet. If we had more lakes with them in NW Ontario I would fish them often. Its at least a 2 hour drive for me before I find water with 'bows here. Cheers
Thanks bud! It was a challenge for sure. Just one more new lake to go. If it doesnt happen in the next couple weeks itll have to wait for ice fishing. Today was 24 degrees here but temps are supposed to drop hard the next week.
Despite failing to get my target species I had fun catching rainbows not gunna lie. That one fish I thought was a snag may have been a big brown. If you eve wanna meet up near the border to do some fishing here send me a message. Cheers brother.
Manitoba is where it’s at buddy!! 😂 if you make it over to the west side of Manitoba you should look into Patterson for browns or persse lake which is right by twin lakes cheers 🍻 buddy!! Keep up the great vids!!
Oh yeah for sure Cory, I would definitely wanna explore the west side of MB. It's just such a long drive across the province. Someday though. I would probably spend a whole week there and fish all over. Make it worth my while, cheers brother!
Thanks maybe I'll check that one out next. I know Lyons has them just didnt get one to the kayak, in hind sight I bet a little Cleo being trolled around would get some good bites in there. Cheers
Awesome video Joe!! So enjoyed it. Those were some wicked looking rainbows. Can't beat that. Great fight and awesome looking fish. I hear you are heading north the next week!! Hoping me, you and Tony can get out and catch some fish. I have the full day off. I'd love to get out there and try for some late fall trophies!!
Yeah absolutely I was thinking we could just have fun and hop from shore spot to spot. Frog, highway, Big V.... maybe even Ralph? I wonder if crappies could be caught from shore? Make a full day of spot hopping
Thanks brother! Southern Ontario has brown trout but the province is 50% bigger than Texas LOL. Toronto is 1000 miles away (literally). Manitoba is pretty much my only option unless I travel south to Wisconsin but that would be a little further and I have no family there so much more expensive. I'll keep plugging away at it, it will be that much more fun when it happens!
@@reeloutdoorscanada I have heard of the odd brown being caught that far north but not sure if it is an established population or the odd rouge trout that comes up from south side of Superior. It is still intriguing though. Thunder Bay is only 2 hours away from me.
@@differentfins Gord was telling me he caught a few in there. Not sure how long ago that was though lol. Was hearing about the change in the steelhesd population in a black bay tributary so you never know.
Thanks Matt. I wish we had a few lakes with them. Pretty much the only fish stocked around here are brook trout (which are one of my faves). A few lakes with rainbows and 2 I know of stocked with splake and that's it. Manitoba has much more variety than we have in NW Ontario.
Yeah I was definitely happy getting those rainbows but chasing my first brown trout will have to wait. It may become a little series of videos. I'll keep trying!
I did one pass by the rock and it seemed deep, didn't have my fish finder this trip but I could tell. I avoided that end of the lake because the wind was heavier and I wanted to give the shore anglers some breathing room. I do a lot of shore fishing myself and because of that I respect the distance. Nothing worse than a boater who gets within casting distance of shore anglers. Cheers bud!
Hi Joe, better luck next time Brother 👍😁👌
Oh yeah I'll get that brown trout someday, at least I didnt get skunked lol. The rainbow trout were a nice consolation 😉
Just a matter of time Brother 👍
What a nice Trout! Very nice spot. Love it

Nice job keeping on the new locations. Some beautiful colours on those trout. Well done

Nice colors on those bows.
I know right? Those pinks and purples were very deep. The purple on the little one, I think it was the second catch, was pretty epic. Cheers
Looks like it was a fun day!

I like fishing using kayaks, and it's really fun
Yes it is! So much fun. Thank you for watching friend!

🤘Niiiice!!! WOOOOO
There's a lake right close to Lyons called McHugh lake that has Brown trout but you have to hike in
Thanks maybe I'll check that one out next. I know Lyons has them just didnt get one to the kayak, in hind sight I bet a little Cleo being trolled around would get some good bites in there. Cheers
has tigers also
@@fishingwithfever I got my first ever tiger last winter ice fishing Foot Print Lake near Grand Rapids. Such a stunning fish!
Is it possible to shore fish from Mchugh?

I never knew brown trout were not around Ontario. Keep at it, dude. Still, the rainbows were nice.

@@differentfins Heard the Arrow river still has some browns near thunder bay from a thunder bay local who fishes it.

@@reeloutdoorscanada that sounds crazy! Gord Ellis the one who said that?
Some beautiful fish! They sure don’t make em like that down here lol
I've never seen rainbows this pink/purple before. They were something cool to see in person. Cheers
Great video joe! Those were some nice looking rainbows, to bad you couldn’t hook into a brown. I’m surprised they aren’t stocked in NW Ontario.

What lures are you using I will be there this weekend
Hey there, I used a few but the one that really got the most fish was a size 1 Mepps Black Fury spinner on the ultra light rod.
