According to the manual you have the speakers the wrong way around. I find the bass and treble controls a little lacklustre but the actual sound of each instrument is pretty precise. Overall a very good unit and cheaper than some high end equivalents. I would certainly recommend this hifi
End of the day its technics, its a nice looking little unit, you did the right thing by not buying the denon, however using pieze discs for tweeters is never a good idea, you wont hear them unless you are a bat.
I have bought this same model and I am happy so far. I did notice the super tweeter does vibrate when I lightly touched them so they seem to be functional.
My PMX94 also has no sound coming out of the piezo‘s and with a lot of bass you can hear them rattling a bit, happened with my PMX84 as well that I returned. Sounds really awesome still

During the mid-1960s, the development work carried out by the BBC had advanced to a stage which was beyond the capabilities of the available paper pulp cone bass units. The decision was taking to investigate the possibilities of using some form of plastic as a cone and surround material. It was assumed that plastic would be a consistent material unlike paper pulp, which to some degree seemed to depend on the mood of pulp stirrer. Over the years it has been found that it was not quite that easy. The section of the BBC Research Department involved in this operation was headed by Mr. Del Shorter, now retired, with Mr. H.D. Harwood now of Harbeth Acoustics, second in command and myself completing the investigating team. Some two years were spent making 12in unit cones in a variety of shapes and from a range of plastics; this could be a story on its own. The first successful unit was made from the now well-known Bextrene and used in the development of the BBC studio monitor type LS5/5. his loudspeaker was described in an article written by Mr. H.D. Harwood in the March 1968 issue of Wireless World. My part, as a laboratory technician, in the operation was to do most of the actual work both on the plastic investigation and the development of the LS5/5. With that experience I decided that it should be possible to make a loudspeaker from scratch in the home environment. With the aid of our electric fire, a compressor working in reverse and an iron bedstead the first vacuum former was built. Bins full of malformed cones were produced before any measure of success was achieved and the first 8in unit was produced. This unit turned out to be almost certainly the first commercial 8in Bextrene driver and still arguably the best. The first pair of BC1s was constructed using these units and Celestion HF1300 units. The cabinets were smaller than the current model and initial listening tests indicted that the performance could be improved by an increase in size, hence the present design. At this point it was all being done for fun. The second pair of BC1s was made for a friend who took them to Merrow Sound of Guildford. The third pair was sold to Merrow Sound and Spendor was on the way to a small niche in the audio world. Now some difficulties were beginning to arise as under the terms of my contract with the BBC, the design had to be offered to them. Fortunately the 'Pop' era had just started and the main request was for more power, so the BC1 was turned down. Around about this time there was a special requirement within the BBC for one pair of speakers about the size of the BC1s. Being a kind soul, I suggested that my design could be used, so I was given the task of producing an official version of the BC1, later designated the LS3/6. This design used an 8in unit made by Research Department, the Celestion HF1300 and a redesigned crossover. The main change in the crossover was the addition of a large multi-tap autotransformer to allow adjustment of levels between the two units, normal BBC practice at that time. Some months later BC1s were fitted with an amplifier mounted in the back panel and the 4001G super tweeter added. This addition was for purchase tax reasons, but it did have two extra gains. Firstly, it improved the overall dispersion characteristics, secondly, from the broadcasting angle, it made any 625-line breakthrough to be more easily detected. Now the LS3/6 was offered to a number of commercial companies and eventually taken by Rogers, then under the control of Jim Rogers. With approval, and a little assistance from the BBC, Rogers added the Celestion HF2000. As Spendor was now a commercial company it was agreed that a royalty should be paid to the BBC for each BC1 produced. This was in recognition of the work I had done on the loudspeaker whilst still employed by the BBC. To perhaps prove the order of development of the two systems, it is of note that out of over two thousand BC1s supplied to the professional market there are over six hundred in operation with the BBC and as far as I know very few, if any, LS3/6 speakers. In addition to the above, the name Spendor is derived from the first names of myself and my wife Dorothy. Mrs. Hughes provided practical assistance in the early days with her coil winding expertise and now as Managing Director is responsible for all accounting, sales and general management. The other model Panasonic SC-PMX802 costs a little bit more - The difference is inside - the PMX802 features the acclaimed JENO Engine amplifier from TECHNICS - but cosmetically the models look exactly the same . If anyone is about to buy this it might be worth looking at the new model .

Just got one last week cost me £249 from Panasonic outlet store saved me £50 from the original price not used it yet.will be getting better and longer speaker cable before I set it up for use

The laptop doesn't control the main volume of the Panasonic unit. Both are independant. If I'm not wrong the same applies for Bluetooth. Volume not synced
I have SA-PMX92 and the only think that i truly dislike about is its display , only 1 line and no no CD text option. Apart from that, it's pretty cool, good value for money .
I think your speakers are on the wrong sides. The tweeters should be on the inside. I think the 3way is the main speaker, the tweeter which is the next size speaker, and the bass opening at the rear.
Hi. Does audio in auto play work for you? I connected the audiocast to this input, but when I turn on the song, the tower does not turn on automatically. You need to find the aux in option on the remote.
No it does not have Spotify but you can use the Bluetooth to stream it anyway. I don't see the point of Spotify when you have TH-cam Music and Bluetooth.
Hi Chad. Sorry for insisting, but I work/live in Kenya and there's no way to compare either before buying. I want (relatively) clean and loud audio. Does this panasonic blow away the Three in terms of sound quality/volume or are they comparable? I obviously prefer something smaller, but not at the expense of quality. I had too many underwhelming Bluetooth speakers in the last few years.
yes drivers are needed. Can be found on the manufacturer website. They came with an audio player but only the drivers are necessary. You can use any player of your choice like Foobar2000
One thing that did piss me off about this model is that Panasonic left out a balance control. I have bought under 100 dollar no name little shit stereos that included a balance adjustment were as I did not have to move my speakers around to balance the sound. For 400 dollars Canadian I would expect more.

But comparing the value for money its good, any basic audio system that is good will run you at least 500$-700$+, which is double/triple the price. By adding additional soundbar and bass I was thinking of replacing missing ends for cheap, but opted out of that idea in the end.

piezo speakers are fake speakers. they are very cheap, they are used in all kinds of toys. they were used in the 80-s boomboxes to make them look better. they don't have any magnet system. they were used in the 90-s mini systems so that the speakers could be called "3-way speakers".

Kolumienki mają spory potencjał, bardzo dobry, punktowy bas, zatem nie rozumiem o co ci chodzi. Wygląda na to, że celowo oczerniasz produkt, a nawet w najmniejszym stopniu nie miałeś okazji go poznać. Ten zestaw przez kilka dni porównywałem brzmieniowo z Denonem D-M41, Yamahą MCR-B270D i Kenwoodem M-9000S. Jeśli chodzi o bogactwo sceny, tylko Yamaha zaoferowała podobne doznania dźwiękowe. Tyle że kosztuje prawie osiem stów więcej. Denon brzmi bardzo płasko, a Kenwood ma bas tragicznie rozlazły. Jak flaki wyjęte z oleju.

I have the same model. Connects nicely to my TV on the optical cable. As you say. Decent bass. I’m pleased with it.
The supertweeters are for frequencies above 20kHz, it would be very suprising if you could hear them.
You cannot hear them, but they are necessary to reproduce the highest harmonic frequencies required to reproduce a typical sound.

I only installed a driver. They are completely independent of each other.
I don't know but you can connect it with bluethooth. Then for sure you can control the volume.
