Thanks Jay, much food for thought, but very well explained as usual. Love your music too.

Very informative, I used to believe that point light is point light per se. Now I can set up lights in interior without hdri. Thank you very much.

Thank you for that. I am a 3d modeler and I only do props and clothing. I have stayed away from buildings and things like that because I did not know how to create lighting myself inside without using just the basic light sets as provided by DAZ. I have looked and looked for more info on it but it almost seemed like it was a secret...lol... My daughter is a professional photographer and helps me when I need to set up lighting for a project, but she knows nothing about creating 3d lights from scratch. The only person I understood before and respected for lighting was the creator Dreamlight. But he mostly was good at showing how to place lighting for scenes and teaches you that sort of thing. In the packages from him I have there is nothing on how to just create light from nothing. You are the first to show me that. Thank you. Now I understand the sliders I did not know what they really were for and I think I can now create my own light sources, which is at least a start. Who knows what I might create now. lol. My wife is going to just love me.

When dealing with the Lumens slider, roughly 216,000 is the level for daylight according to Google

Kind of funny, the more realistic the render engines get...the more "equipment" we have to use (like a photographer). Just looking at the photo of the model on the beach...you don't see the extra lights, reflectors and crew behind the scenes.
