Raising the cap is the obvious and easy solution. Why have they kicked the can down the road for so long? I don't trust the incoming administration to do anything right, let alone on SS.
fyi I received a response from my congressman, who is a Republican, I'm in District 11 in WNC (Mark Meadows stomping grounds)... and with great assurance that nothing is going to change for SS with the incoming administration... I'm going to make a bunch of copies of it keep them on record... just saying thank you Dr you have helped so much and continue to...
Nobody does but, if you're married to someone or were married to someone who paid in, you can collect off of them. Is this what you're actually getting at?
I get about $700 a month insurance from it I drew at 62 for the last 8 years I worked paid into SSI again no choice I got about a $5.00 increase per month I’m 74 if I’m on the poverty level why don’t I get to draw more
I 57 SSDI widower. Not heard u talk about the Chronic Special Needs Plan. Is it a good plan to have . I don't know much about it. Doesn't pay any $$ on B. Does have other good things. Also should I be getting anymore benefits. Any of these extra checks out now. Ty ED
Yes, that's the way it has to be and the only way they are ensured to get paid. In my State, you get to keep $50.00 of your check for personal needs. The amount per month is different in every State. Good luck.
I believe the high earners limit is to equalize the max payout limit. Basically what you are suggesting is distributing wealth. The only way it would be fair is to increase the max payout. Why should some pay in much more and receive the same as someone who paid in much less?
Im 62 and am going start drawing my ss,and still want to work when i appied at that time i put on application i would be making my 32,000 a year ,now i want to work under the earing rule,so will my benfit be more, its 1,100 now?
I'm still trying to find out what should I do when my decision letter says knowingly gave up my disability benefits and changed my disability start date up to a year and half before my hearing so I wouldn't be eligible. I did not do this knowingly and I want to know what I should do . I had received letter saying I had enough work credits for SDDI. Please help Dr. Ed. Bobby Meyer
If the SS Fairness act passes, what does a person who is affected by it do? Contact SS or is it automatic? (Doubtful) Also what will the start date be?
I tried to get ex spouse claim but I called the 800 # and I was told that I had to have my ex’s ss#. They told me I couldn’t file unless I had his #. I gave him my divorce # for ex and he said it was wrong? They have been paying him for decades? Advice please
I called SS# 800 for ex spouse support married over10 years, I gave them his SS# off my divorce papers. Told me It was wrong, they have been paying him for last 2 decades. I asked can’t you get it? He said unless I gave him his # I could not apply???
That sounds wrong. Ask to speak to their supervisor if the next person says the same. Call again and again until you get someone who knows what they're doing.

Sounds like laziness on the SSA employee. Yes, I agree with the below comment. Get your ex's dang SS# off of old taxes, when all else fails. Good luck. In case you get that lazy employee, or another one. IEDS (Independently Entitled Divorced Spouse) benefits RS 00202.005
Thank you for all you do❤🙏🙏
You are so welcome

Left you a question this past week but no reply.
How does my question come up on your "live" program??
Thanks, Dr. Ed. That was the best explanation of WEP I've ever heard.
Glad it was helpful!
Call your US Senator and demand they do not confirm Trumps Social Security Commissioner
Are you talking fica taxes? Which tax? I say raise cap. 170k not that much in todays money
Thank you. An easy solution. Let's you know these Politicians don't want Social Security around.
Raising the cap is the obvious and easy solution. Why have they kicked the can down the road for so long? I don't trust the incoming administration to do anything right, let alone on SS.
Teleworking saves overhead on Office space. They have lost funding to keep offices open.
I agree! It should not pass!

If they don't pay in then they should not receive, They need to RAISE the FICA TAX on all
Nobody does but, if you're married to someone or were married to someone who paid in, you can collect off of them. Is this what you're actually getting at?
I had to pay both 6% mandatory pension AND 7.45% FICA. They are double dipping. Breaking the system bu 1000 cuts.
They had an equivalent amount or more than SS put into a pension plan in place of SS. A Section 218 agreement.

How do they take part D away when you need it most
There are many reasons why this could possibly occur. Have you contacted someone to see why, and what can be done?
My increase was $25.00 wow
That 1950.00 per month that you csn earn in 2025 is that gross 1950.00or net 1950.00?

Does nursing home has the right to take a patient Social Security disability check even when a patient is on Medicare and Medicaid?

What is the web site for sign up to your social security account
Been collecting SSA for 7 years heard you have to register on line or you won't get your benefits is this legit

It is a % of wages. We pay on 100%, so as a %, they pay much less. Please explain this to us, please Dr Weir. I probably got it wrong.

Did you have a lawyer at the time of this occurrence?

Not sure about the 1st part of your question. It goes back to December, 2023.

Doge is going after administrative monies, not recipients monies.
Bullshit!
