Yes, Yamaha has been including audio interfaces built into the USB ports of their keyboards for years now it's a fabulous feature that other manufacturers (Casio for example) really need to start doing as well. It's been in their entire PSR-E series keyboards for ages (PSR-E373, etc) and their pianos (P-125, P-225, P-145, DGX-670, CK61, CK88 etc) all have it as well. In addition to being able to send audio to a DAW, you can also connect the piano directly to your phone and use the built in camera app to make a piano performance video - the camera app will use the direct high quality audio instead of the built in mic (and since the DGX has a mic input, you can even include vocals in your video). And the audio goes in both directions, which also gives some other advantages: you can use it as an "audio in"/"aux in" to stream in external audio, backing tracks, piano lessons, TH-cam etc to play along with through your headphones/speakers, AND if you are using a MIDI sound bank on your device, the audio coming from the VST comes straight back through to the DGX speakers/headphones without any lag.
Bro, thank you so much for this video. I was losing hope because i didnt have an audio interface to get quality sound in my videos. This is a game changer for me. Glad i stumbled across this.
Sales rep at Guitar Center told me that I would not need an audio interface as the DGX-670 already comes installed with one. That was the game changer for me. I made my purchase.
Another great audio routing feature in this model is the headphone jack can be configured to not silence the internal speakers. This is great when recording or connecting to a PA so you can still use the onboard speakers for monitoring. :)
@@phillc yeah! Sadly that feature is missing on earlier models. When I went to the shop to test the 670, I was trying to strike a deal with the sales guy to have him modify the headphone jack to keep the speakers on, not realizing this new feature existed :-)

Wow!! What a treasure trove of insights💡💡💡💡💡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏🙏 thank you so much for the education 😊❤️👊
What kind of cable would I need to connect in between the USB port on the piano and my iPhone? Thanks so much!

You’re welcome. Happy to share what I’m figuring out - I’m getting so much from your musical knowledge about using styles and voices to improvise.
You're da man! 🙏💪👊 Teamwork makes the dream work 😁

@@AndrewSahagian Very insightful Andrew! Cheers!
Very cool!
When you have it plugged into the computer are the voices from the DGX piano, or from the software?
Voices are all from the DGX via USB Audio. Like it has a built in audiobox 🤯
