North Stradbroke Island - New Years 2013 - The Beauty Before The Fires...

We enjoyed this beautiful holiday destination for 6 wonderful days between Boxing Day and New Years Day 2013. The 29th December was the night the Lighting Storm hit and started the fire just 5km from our Camp Site. We were evacuated on New Years Day and a week later, the fires are still burning and we cannot believe how much of Straddie has been burnt. We love this place, there isn't anything better than watching the Sunset from the southern point of North Stradbroke Island. Make sure that once in your life you get over there to see it.
