Rehoboam, the grandson of King David and son of King Solomon, grew up during the peak of the kingdom of Israel, a period marked by great prosperity, economic and cultural expansion.
He became the first king of Judah during the period of the divided kingdom.

He was just as Evil as his father Solomon was because all behavior is Learned.
Well King Solomon wasn't evil per se. In his later years, he was influenced by his many wives. Rehoboam was spoiled & entitled.
