- The Local Project presents, in collaboration with Artedomus, an insight into The Sage House by interior designer Carole Whiting. The family home works with the old and the new to create a narrative of handcrafted design, gentle lines and organic materiality.
Artedomus Elba is used throughout the design, from the kitchen and bathroom surfaces to the New Volumes objects.

She says "Everything is placed in here as informally as we could So that it feels relaxed" What a brilliant concept and idea. However, I find this Interior is too white for a home. Especially Pantry dining and Hallway. A Quite monotonous and unfinished.

As architect, I love how the exterior doesn´t talk anything about the contemporary style indoor, the materials fit with the area, and it´s totally amazing.

Un exterior victoriano. Interior limpio, muy escandinavo. El cerramiento de çocina en negro industrial inte grado. Orden y limpieza, pocas concesiones al color , tonos tiza empolvados y toques de negro. Hermoso, ligeramente triste.
this is such a cold feeling house. even the so called kids spaces just feel so clinical
This is very Scandinavian but also reminds me of Japanese minimalism..

It also reminded me of the Shaker Design. Especially the materials, the minimalism and the hanging chairs in combination with this old fashion undertone.
The local project's channel is probably down to earth for me😌

If I could add my own artworks and plants, this house would be perfect. Wonderfully minimalist, just needs a touch more colour for my taste. Particularly greenery.

This is incredibly well done, it takes a great deal of attention and care to curate a home like this. The intention behind the materials, the joinery and how the space interacts with the natural lighting. Wow, this is beautifully done.

This calm and cozy work of art looks like a home, and this is not an obvious statement, because nowadays all we see is buildings that look like anything but a home.
I really appreciate minimal and simple gesture with warm materials and subtle details. So beautifully peaceful!

Unlike other comments here, I find this design lets you breathe and the white enlightens and doesn’t distract. Personally I believe some plants would be a nice addition. And while the bath tub looks interesting, I am not sure if you sit comfortably in it. Open showers really depend on the overall climate (airflow) in the room. I really enjoyed the introduction (words).

This is stunning. So well thought out; well-edited & restrained but not too cold with the warmth of woods, steel windows, random pops of color or black & greenery. The hallway from the front to back is fantastic. I will say, the front exterior feels nothing like what you find inside but I think that’s mainly because of that decorative trim that feels very cottage to me. I’ll just go ahead & remove that before I move in😉
Trustful clients is the key to a successful design project because the designer knows best.

Livespace should come and see this. This is minimal design. Their so called minimal is so much colour and lot of furnitures. This is the minimal interior design Livspace.
Most indian Companies never understand Minimalism .....Minimalism is way too ahead of there times

I love the color white
Great interior for a modern art museum, not sure if it's a house that you want to live in it everyday .
The over all effect is tranquil and serene but what family ever said "lets have a white sofa so we can NEVER ever relax while we sit on it and share a pizza, have a snack, drink coffee (or red wine) , eat ice cream or enjoy buttered popcorn ? " (At least the dogs are the same colour as the sofa ,but muddy paws are a thing !)I just do NOT understand the anxiety inducing white or beige or cream sofa obsession !
let's hope the sofa is the latest wine proof material.
Good thing you don’t live here. You definitely wouldn’t feel the calm this home provides. Plenty of fabrics resistant to spills these days & removable white slipcovers that can be washed so that white is less “scary”. One can teach kids there are some spaces off limits to eating whilst still enjoying another more casual space in the home that isn’t white if you desire eating away from the table. Otherwise you’d simply have a different couch..but it’s not your home😉
@@sweetpeace5 yes; each to his/her own.....I know people who love white ,but I don't really understand it ....any way I am far too messy (my whole family is) and I love painting and ink and I am prone to dragging bits of nature inside (leaves, logs and twigs and baby birds rescued from fallen nests ) so it doesn't suit me at all . If my comment came across as rude I didn't mean it....

Beautiful, it feels so soft an inviting, LOVE the victorian facade on the front, the nature of the artisan interior feels NECESSARY
however, I wish they would have incorporated more victorian craftsmanship on the back of the house for a more harmonious feel..

Breathtaking... but a bit cold.
Stunning design isn't it. We were lucky enough to see this one in person, and once in there the warmth of the timber floorboards and the calm white interiors make for a lovely feel - not too cold, but may be otherwise seen in the video!

I like the materials and the style, I like minimalism and empty spaces. Yet, even to me, this feels too empty and sterile. I think it's the lack of textiles and art.
I suppose it's personal preference the house was just very clean and do keep in mind for these footage they prepare and tidy the house even more. But there's plenty of plants, art, stone sculptures, bags hanging around, toothbrush, dogs, even a unmade bed. Without the camera there would be more personal belongings. I think it's just a tidy minimalist beautiful home.

parts of the house were lovely; i only had a problem with the living room where the white's bit off balanced in terms of top-below proportion. but still a good effort.

At 3:55, what stone did he mention for the kitchen countertops? He said it but it sounded like "elder stone" so I'm not sure if I heard him correctly (it didn't come up in my Google search). Also where did they get those round wall lights that lead up the stairway and those beautiful 3 white hooks on the bathroom door?
