    throwback to when debates were respectful and meaningful...i'm generally conservative but Obama was an absolute master of debating, amazing at thinking quick and actually answering questions

      Yes and during his time in office respect gradually dissipated and the media turned into a pack of jackals so he can have credit for that. The country was more divided and dumbed down after his Presidency.

      Anna Vajda Well, You may not know, However that The republican party out right said they wanted to make his presidency the worst one in history. This is what they said, theres video you can look up. So what does that mean? It means they blocked everything Obama tried to do, they fought tooth and nail against it. So now looking back, it seems as if was Obama’s fault. History doesn’t show all the people who sought to make it that way. This isnt my opinion, thats just a fact🤷🏽‍♂️

      BOTH George W. Bush and Romney were right and predicted what would happen if all of our troops were pulled out of Iraq. Obama, like the blithering idiot he is, ignored the warnings from Bush, Romney and 6 top U.S. military commanders and pulled all our troops out anyway.
      - Now Iraq has fallen under Islamic radicals (just like Bush and Romney said it would), ISIS has killed innocent men, women and children in Iraq (like Bush said they would) and ISIS has taken control of surrounding areas and has become stronger (like Bush said they would) because Obama is a clueless idiot and doesn't listen to advice from people who are intelligent and have knowledge.

    I respect everyone's opinions but, quite a few of the people who hate Obama have no clue why. Sure there are many reasons to hate Obama, but a lot of the times the reasons for the hate is because of tiny things. Examples "Just because he's Obama" or "Obama care is too much to handle" a lot of this drama is completely biased. He's your damned president for god's sake. It's pretty hard to run a country that hates you. Obama Isn't all that bad. Neither is Mitt Romney, both have reasons to like, or to hate. But I say, if you're going to hate someone, hate with a purpose. Not because he's black, or white, a male or female. Who cares!? The country needs a leader for the people, from the people. To be successful of course.

  • @kanguesso
    @kanguesso 10 ปีที่แล้ว +48

    If you were to describe the presidential debates as a prize fight, you'd have to see Romney as a young ferocious Mike Tyson and Obama as the older wiser Muhammad Ali. Romney came out looking for a first round knock out in the first Debate and he hit Obama with everything he had but he forgot one thing, a Prize fight is 12 rounds. You almost have to save your energy for the later rounds. Obama seemed as if he employed the "Rope-a-Dope" tactic on Romney. He simply laid back and took Romeny's best shots then came back with a vengeance a la "Ali vs Foreman" in the rumble in the jungle. Once Obama got off of the Ropes and began to swing back at Romney, it was all she wrote from there.

    Mitt Romney is decent, a good family man. Wow, I’m flabbergasted. Imagine praising an opponent like that, instead of accusing him or her of some trumped up (pun intended) felony. I hope you Yankees realize this was your golden age of modern politics, for what it’s worth. It has since descended into reality TV show mud slinging that makes ‘y’all‘ a laughing stock to the world. Ouch.

    Romney's remarks were strong no dobt,but his problem is simple:he gets pissed off nadstarts to get too defensive too quickly,he needs to be calm,what really killed his chances were that,and his squinces at Obama like he wanted to punch him or something

    When Trump said he had a small loan of a million dollars he also left out a loan of 70 million he got at the same time with his dad as cosigner on the hook for 35 million of it. Total loans for his very first project = 71 million, in 1978, adjusted for inflation it's over a quarter billion for his first loan. More than Romney's net worth. Remember when Romney was "the rich guy?"

    Romney really fucked up after the first debate. He wasn't prepared or smart enough or something. He really looked ridiculous, just like most of the GOP leadership. It didn't help Romney that he'd had to debate the parade of clowns at the GOP debates during the primaries. They were the most ludicrous things I've seen on TV. The only way to reduce the debt is to increase taxes and all economists know that.

    Don't most people realize that the capital gains tax is on income that has already been reduced by the tax rate? In a zero tax world $1000 invested at 10% would earn $100 per year. But if that $1000 is taxed first, at say 30%, then only $700 is net invested, for a 10% return of $70 per year. The government already has taken that other $30. So a 20% capital gains tax, would reduce that gain by another $14, for a net tax of 44% on the gain. Capital gains are taxed more than ordinary income.

      Unfortunately the vast majority of "everyday people" vote on gut feeling rather than substance so stage presence is really important. That's how people like Trump with no real policy plans can get so far by giving rousing, angry speeches with zero substance. I've become very pessimistic about the intelligence of the everyday person lol
