  • Reviewing the vintage manual-focus Takumar Super-Multi-Coated 55mm f/1.8 lens.

I keep looking up because I'm reading from a screen that's above the camera. In later videos, I moved this monitor to just to the left of the camera which looks more natural. I'm working on trying to just use notes on that screen and not just reading everything.

Nice review, hope you're enjoying your lens! I also have and love this lens -- and the filter threads are 49mm, btw. Also, unless I'm aiming to blur point light sources into some really nice bokeh balls, I also shoot at -- and tend to consider this -- more of an f/2 lens. My copy, at least, noticeably sharpens and deepens the contrast and colors when I shoot at f/2. Oh.. and one last thing if you haven't already heard.. these are slightly radioactive and others have recommended not holding the lens right up to your eye.

Yah, I corrected that in a later video on another Takumar lens.

'asa' means 'morning' and 'hi'(pronounced as hee) means 'sun' in Japanese.
