If we got hit by a CME, no internet would be the least of our worries considering that a CME could take out entire countries power grids worldwide. Why are we only concerned about the internet going down when the whole worlds electrical systems and components could all go down?

But I'm sure the doctors and hospitals as well as the government will require the use of bank transactions which by the way, requires internet. I doubt the people will magically be okay with working for free to serve another human being and pharmacies won't give out medications for free either. Yeah no. The end of the internet will signify a massive turning point for the world economic systems and the use of trading and exchange of goods will be impacted catastrophically. Big Tech companies such as FB, Apple, Google, Tesla and etc. will become worthless as the world economic supply chain will break down and collapse in a matter of days. Power grids will be effected. Food shortages and a water crisis will follow. Civil unrest will follow which will lead humans to go back to a more primitive and Darwinian form of consciousness which will be straight survival instincts for territory and resources. Our more evolved brains will shoot back down into the more Darwinian form of survival as the a technological breakdown of society could send us back to our early ancient ancestors. It’ll be a whole population culling of humans if this is to come.

I wouldn’t know what a life with technology would be like but it would be a global catastrophe because most of the world economic trading is done through the internet and technology. Big tech companies which trade trillions of dollars such as Google, Facebook, Apple, Tesla, and etc. will collapse within a matter of days. E-commerce is worth over $1 trillion dollars will collapse. The amount of technological advancements we’ve made into preserving food and water will be disturbed. Global trading systems and communications will fall. Power grids and electricity will fumble. It’ll be a whole system collapse since our society whether you boomers like it or not will collapse. The worse part is, is what this does to an individual psychologically. This kind of worldwide collapse will send us back to a straight Darwinian environment where whether people are conscious or not of it, will take possession over a collective society and Darwinian instincts in its purest form for survival and reproductive fitness will emerge. Civil unrest will follow alongside a break out of civil wars over resources and territory amongst communities of people. A full breakdown of civilisation will occur if this were to happen.

Everything plugged into a wall outlet would be fried without EMP protection, and that is why the internet would be down for years. Records of bank accounts, government, and business records gone. Gas station pumps down, so trucks couldn't deliver food. No water pumps. Military can't do national Martial Law, so it would be epic chaos.

The only reason I would have concern over this situation becoming a reality is because I work in a hospital, and I'm sure that adjustment would be hard and maybe even deadly to some if our electrical grid went down. Lol!!! See you all forget. Humans lived on this planet for thousands and thousands and thousands of years. We ran businesses, had phones at home, drove car and trucks that were simpler. We all went to work and picked up a paycheck every week. Hospitals existed 100 years ago, long before mankind gave up life and gave in to computers. Children played ball, did their homework and learned how to write. It only been in the last 30 years when life has become bogged down with technology. You all forget the time when life was easy and simple. Now with all this technology, computers, online this and that, life has become increasingly difficult and complex. Remember when cable TV cost just a few bucks? Well now you need cable with internet costing you hundreds. It's getting to the point where you have to go online to go pee. I would love it if the sun took it all away so life can go back to being simple again. Back to a time before identity theft and hacking, back to a time when people spent money which is still the fastest, easiest and most of all, the safest way to do business. No more business who takes card only, turning down the customer who has the very thing a business is in the business to make, money. That's not business, that's bullshit. My grandmother told me that once apon a time, many businesses turned away customers because they had brown skin, today it's money. Yes I hope the sun kills it all. I don't know how old you are but hospitals existed long, long before the computer. I remember when we went to work and worked all week and on Friday, we picked up a paycheck. All this technology, computers, online this and that only makes life more difficult and more complex. One of my biggest concerns are food & currency! I don’t think we will be fine as you say! There is NO DRILL as to what are we going to do without internet. I think more people need to be aware of why we really need the internet. It’s not for social aspects but there’s economical aspects as well. I clock in and out through my phone and the only way I could do that is from the internet. There is no time card available and even if there was, HOW WILL U GET PAID??? Here is the definition of the internet. “The Internet makes it possible to quickly find information, communicate with people around the world, manage your finances, shop from home, listen to music, watch videos, and much, much more….” Think about that for a bit. Just think about it. A world without internet, there will be no way to trade goods, people won’t be able to get to work, everyone is going to have to stay home and hope that the MILITARY delivers food home to home. This will give the military access to every community possible because there is no way to guarantee the safety of the people. Believe me I’m panicking!!! This is a very scary situation. I hope this doesn’t happen.
