    Hello from England, great channel! Owned my green 02 7r nearly a year now, so much character and still a very capable bike. It's gonna go into hibernation soon as I don't ride in the winter sludge anymore, any tips for winter storage?

    • @Turbo329
      @Turbo329  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Pugsly. Just fill up the tank with fresh fuel and add a fuel stabilizer. Then let the bike run with the petcock set to "Off" so the carbs can run dry. When the bike dies then you know the carbs are empty. You should be good to go until next season. If you have a track bike, make sure to remember to drain the water/water+water wetter so that it doesn't freeze up and crack your cylinders (if the bike is stored outside). That's pretty much it.

    Your living the dream. Hat tip to you man. ZX7R was my first race bike, and I sold it to pay for my wedding rings 😣. Total regret! Now most are in really bad shape or they want to much or it’s located across the Atlantic or Canada. I just sold a perfectly good motorcycle because I just didn’t like it, and because I didn’t like it I didn’t ride it. Now I have a hole in my life. Found a few RR’s. They are stupid expensive. Like almost ZX10RR money. I have fast car so that will have to do for now.

      @@Turbo329 I installed in my motorcycle(zxr 400), I set up jets to the instructions of the dynojet and it seems to me that it gets too much fuel, because the engine stops over 7000rpm. And so I wonder whether to return to the original keihin95 mainjets and needles, or to start a smaller dj92 than dj96

    • @Turbo329
      @Turbo329  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kawosz90 Dynojets use much smaller jets than stock. If you’re running a 9x dynojet main jet I can tell you that’s waaay too rich. Did you buy your dynojet kit new or used? Also make sure your float height is set correctly and that your float valve seats aren’t leaking. Those two things have nothing to do with Dynojet and can also cause the symptoms you described.

    • @kawosz90
      @kawosz90 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Turbo329 I set the float height as the instructions say (11 + -2mm), and exactly 12mm, because someone on the forum wrote that need to set a lower fuel level for Dynojet ...I replaced all the needle valves with the new Tourmax, but the original old seats were left in place, so maybe they are not much different and do not match hmm

      You can find an engine cheap off of ebay but honestly, it's not worth throwing too much money at it. it took me two years, a lot of time and $$$$ to get it to 140hp (Crank). I would just get one, put a Dynojet Stage 1 Jet kit in it, a K&N air filter, and a full exhaust system and call it a day. This is why my '02 is pretty stock.

    Nope. 'Running dry' does not empty all the fuel from the carb, it leaves a little. You want to empty the carb completely, you must remove the bowl and wipe it clean. In truth, a little fuel in the bottom is worse than a full bowl. What prevents jets from gunking up is regular running .... what is right now , running dry or not ?
