I hope this video helps you get off to a great start with Canvas. Next, I suggest you watch either "Create Assignments in Canvas" (th-cam.com/video/1B-o59QW-QE/w-d-xo.html) or "How To Set Up Your Canvas Gradebook" (th-cam.com/video/RHmO8Xfn4vs/w-d-xo.html). You got this!
This tutorial is so helpful. I am creating a new course from scratch and I'm so relieved to find your channel. I am looking for a Syllabus template. Do you have any ideas on where I can find that?
I'm so glad you asked! Was updating mine today for the start of the quarter Monday. Here's the link to my syllabus in Google Docs. Make a copy (File > Make a copy) and make it your own! docs.google.com/document/d/1TaatpFs5rzxiZJPlH1ebZeT0xpR6T8AwxhXY69zXp78/edit?usp=sharing
I am so glad I happened upon one of your videos. I only wish I had found these a month ago! I wonder if there is a way I can write to you to explain to you the troubles I'm having with my free version of Canvas? I think I really messed up!! I did use the free version last year. We had a little trouble at the beginning, and then we got things sorted out. This year, I'm having trouble lots of trouble with students not being able to get back into their Canvas account with my free version. So now I'm wondering if I should just ditch my class that I set up this summer and rebuild it from scratch and just follow your videos 😢
Hey Angie... Your videos are awesome and are a huge help for me as I move into the education space. I'd like to know if there is any way for me to assign a fitness assessment that my students have to record and post? An EX is i want them to perform as many pushups as possible in 60 seconds and I would like them to record and submit. Are there any options to do that?
Your best bet would be a quiz, that you can classify as a “Graded Survey” when you’re editing it. Your students will get full credit for posting. You can even give them multiple attempts so they can keep track of their progress.
You can do all of this setup work in your actual, unpublished course. We get ours 2 months before classes start. I don't, personally, use practice courses. But you can also ask your Canvas administrator to create a sandbox course for you.

THANK YOU@@AngieTeaches Navigating this experience is definitely easier with your tutorials. I appreciate your response!
This video is useless unless you have a "practice course" to setup new courses. What if you don't have that as an option?
