I made one for a friend who has two small people, I just primed it and let her get the small ones to paint the thing. They did a good job, used about 10 different colours so its very 'busy' looking.

I’ve built a few of these in a similar style, although admittedly not as nice. I was selling them at £65 a pop. I think people were happier to pay a price like that rather than spend in excess of a tonne on a fancy one only to have the kids cover it in dirt on its first outing.

I was interested in your local wood reclamation center, I have not come across anything like that and as I only live about 15 miles from you, I would like to take a look at this place, so if you could let me know the postcode I would be thankful. I also use a plug cutter but getting them out with a screwdriver is problematic as they seem to break off at odd angles, so I use the bandsaw to cut them out, this has an added bonus as you can then use the rest of the board to cut more plugs, this can be advantageous if you are using expensive wood for the project.

I have put a vague description into ScrewFix and it has come up with the thing I want and I just copy the correct name and search for it on ToolStation and I then can find it, but what I would like is to cut ScrewFix out and just be able to find the things on ToolStation without having to have the exact name.

Nice one - no space for a play kitchen indoors but the kids' nursery got one of these and I'd been thinking about doing a similar one for the garden!
