I think I’d pay at most $500 for anything from this collection, like even the shoes I like I can’t justify paying over a thousand dollars for them

I literally made 15k last year like I can't imagine being rich enough to spend 1/15th of my income on anything other than say, a computer, a car something I'd use daily

I was the most disappointed with Makoto bc I think that some Victorian/Edwardian-style boots would've fit her very well. 🤷🏽♀️ Like a dark green velvet or something tbh

YES omg I feel like ppl she only got those boots because ppl know she the strongest so they give her masculine stuff (not that the boots are Necessarily masculine but compared to the others ) it make no sense for Makoto character she is literally the most traditionally feminine out of the inner scout she cooks she makes her own clothes she literally a ice skater she supposed to prove that you can be a girly girl and be strong but ppl just she her kick ass and take that hyper femininity away from her
So I’m a fashion stylist and I literally styled these shoes just to see if I could and it turned out pretty okay. I think the main issue stems from the fact that their too cartoony and not practical enough for everyday use
They’d only ever work for cosplays, and even _then_ it’s pretty dubious because I think it’d look so out of place if the rest of the costume wasn’t bedazzled for the gods🥲
the shoes are ok to style(not the sneakers though, I just do not like them at all), but I just don't like the price to quality relationship
@@LisaFevral yea I could 10/10 style any, but at such a price point couldn’t I just make my own rendition…? 😂 buy decent quality shoes and doctor them up for a similar concept. Love jimmy choo but at this rate it will be 10 years till I can afford his normal stuff!

i ended up really liking it and can see myself making whole outfits with them with how bright they are but i don’t think they’re quite worth over 1k like maybe a couple hundred (thinking abt $500-700) for it being a collab with a designer brand yeah but not $1000 🧍♀️

i love LOVE sailor mars' original heels because they're just so.. spicy and get straight to the point. however with this one they went with like the worst heel design ever it just bothers me so much aughh

I didn't know Sailor Moon x Jimmy Choo did a collaboration together and I would say it is soo cool and amazing that they did a fashion icon together. I loved the boots from Sailor Moon. Except Sailor Jupiter's boots weren't quite what I expected but they are ok I guess. The purses were cool with graphic design art

Usually the easiest way to get me to buy anything is a Sailor Moon collab. I had no interest in Vans whatsoever before the collab with my girls, and I usually like Jimmy Choo shoes. But this…honey, those bags…one of the Luna ones is so damn tiny it’s a joke🥲
The collab is very solid I love how the shoes reference each scout without fully just copying it I still think Jupiter’s shoes are ugly but they’re also ugly in the original anime to me soo😭😭. The manga panel bags are so fucking cute I just wish that we would get the outer senshi because as a sailor Saturn Stan I’m use to crumbs and I’m fine if they gave a crumb maybe just a keychain 😭😭 but Venus mercury and mars shoes are such slay and the sailor moon boots look gorgeous in the light so I don’t hate them too much.

I'm sorry but I cackled when I read that. I 100% agree with you though that the Jupiter shoes indeed are not it. Something about the style and color just seems off. It doesn't really scream Sailor Jupiter in my opinion, it looks more of like those green army men from Toy Story.
Jupiter’s shoes deserved better! I have shoes kind of like the anime in black. They’re very comfortable & witchy looking. I wish they would’ve went for a more subtle forest green with velvet instead of that toy soldier green 😢

Maybe it’s the art style even though it’s original and iconic art from Naoko Takeuchi.
But I find any simple illustration or manga panel on a bag look boring, any (online) store can make that but this material is just way more expensive 😭😭 if they were more creative or asked to redraw the panels for the bag, but also sold with the original panels for the fans who want that. Though I kinda like that they gave the bag some colors.
By the way Primark had a Sailor Moon collaboration back in December😅 And you can find some really cute things for less money on this collection

Okay realistically I'd wear those as a everyday shoe since green is my favourite color BUT how dare they not finally give us the business casual shoes we've been waiting for. All they had to do was recreate the shoes and we'd be foaming at the mouth, getting the rest of our cosplays or gijinkas ready like... there's just no excuse imo..

Honestly happy with the shade of blue chosen for Mercury's boots as this collaboration is based on the manga rather than the 90's anime and Mercury is more of a light and vibrant blue there

Idk how to explain it properly, but when the stones are attached to something that is not see through, like clothing, it's much better to use Swarovski crystals than lab diamonds or something like that, it's all about how the light is reflected, just fyi. The boots still don't cost 15 grand though

The first time I saw this collab I was very excited because the main shoes and the Luna's bags were at least related to the characters 😭😭 It's quite sad that I got happy with literally the bare minimum because sailor moon collabs are usually sooooo lazy

I woud style those purses with monochrome outfits in black, white and any key color of the senshi. Simple pieces goes well with loud pattern, but it also could look good in maximalism style. I think it's not too hard to style, but it just looks cheap and doesn't worth the dedication
The under-utilization of each of the sailor scouts logo is crashing me, they could have been the most amaizing hardware for purses or even if they used them as "logomania" would have been cool. And the snubbing of Usagi school shoes? That little cross over the feet has more impact than any of the shoes present in this collection. I am so pissed (idk why, is not like I was going to buy something from it anyway). It is sooo subpar.

For a high fashion brand I am very disappointed😅 That collaboration gives me Primark but I have glued some Swarowski crystals on it … I think you can find cooler things with a less aggressive design on Etsy for much less money and good quality😅

I like to think I adore Sailor Moon more than your average fan, it did shape a lot of my fashion choices growing up, but literally nothing here is worth the pricepoint. I feel like for a fraction of those prices, you could have something custom made that looks even nicer.
i really liked the boots with less crystals on them and the bags but that's about it, the other shoes were okay, sailor mercury's im not a fan bc they don't even look like her shoes but maybe they just wanted to add some variety to the collection i guess

lol i make a lot of fan art stuff on tiktok, sometimes i dabble with ips i dont know much about, and boy trust me people can tell when you don't know shit, i can tell choo don't know shit about sailer moon, i was honestly upset by that stupid manga panel usagi kiss bag, even i could do better (and i don't know shit), it's SO lazy. my favourite kind of tie ins are the ones that capture essence, something low key, like if you love something enough to pay multiple hundred x dollars for it (and you have class), it won't be ahegao reminiscent garbage, it has to be somewhat abstracted to the heart

Concordo, com o que disse sobre os cristais na bota inspirada na Sailor Moon, também pensei sobre as botas para Sailor Mercury e Sailor Júpiter parecem que são botas inspiradas em Winx, com a Bloom e a Aisha (Laila). Sem dúvidas as melhores coisas dessa coleção de sapatos são o salto para Sailor Mars e a sandália para Sailor Vênus.

@@LisaFevral Exactly, if they were green they would be the boots from Aisha's first transformation. however, it does not seem that Sailor Jupiter's boots from this collection could be a mix of the green color in the transformation with the boot from the common outfit that she appears at the beginning of season 2 (Aisha)?

"crystals" ironed on jersey = either it falls out soon or the shoe has almost no stretch to it which means it would be hella hard to put on
btw the uneven pattern/ size of the crystals looks like they are half heartedly trying to justify their "design"

I know they want it to be trendy, but honestly the o.g. Sailor Moon heels would have made it better imo. Her boots are a mix of cowboy boots and 70s boots, which is both elegant, comfy and striking. I praise fake stilettos, but I feel like it doesn't really fit in with the style of the shoe. It's as if they made a Winx shoe collection and put stilettos instead of chunky platforms.
Swarovski definitely has a reputation which still exceeds the quality. It's also deemed a luxury in coutries like f.e. Brazil.
Honestly I think unless you know stuff about jewelry bc you or someone you know is into it, you would think that it’s luxury, so I’m never surprised when ppl think that! I do feel obligated to tell them what it actually is though, bc paying that much for marketing alone is crazy!
@@LisaFevral Yeah, it's insane! My major disappointment was when i got a ring that i wore daily. After a year the "metal" was worn down and was not silver anymore. Learned my lesson that swarovski is NOT day jewlery and only for special occasions.
The pricepoint was never a "big issue" where i live because we have a production plant nearby and they had big sales once a year. Like 50% off (which is still a bit ngl).
Personally i think the fad of swarovski has died down but i have to admit, the new marketing director made it so much more interesting (fe those big clunky rings). All in all: Buy swarovski if you like a design but only for special occasions not daily wear. If you want to save money befriend someone who works there ;p

I don’t know much about Jimmy Choo, as I’ve never bought from them. I just knew they were a high end shoe brand. So I was excited when I saw they were coming up with a sailor moon collab… and instantly dismayed when I saw the prices, and plus that they were all made of leather
Ngl, Sailor Venus' shoes already feel so outdated in their design? It might just be me but I feel like I have been seeing platform heels like that for years now already and that kind of shape doesn't read luxury brand at all.
As for the whole collection I agree that I can appreciate the attempt and obvious effort put in but the price makes it quite audacious.

I actually love the collection. Obviously this being Jimmy Choo I think the intent was to target women who don’t mind spending on luxury brands. Jimmy Choo’s are just that expensive and the prices are similarly priced to other pairs you would find in their store. I also remember reading that the mangaka was also personally involved in the designs a well.
I think most of the pieces are legit pretty good, just... not for this price.

Part of me likes those high-end cosplay pieces, but part of me... I've seen a bedazzled full inner senshi + serenity + black lady outfits so, color me not impressed, and also the price omg it's just cartoonish boots... And part of me now craves more sailor moon bonding, and seeing the casual clothes they got out for Ojamajo Doremi, why can't Toei do the same here.
Honestly even if something is cartoonish, if it’s well designed - I’m here for it, but this is just not my fave :(

When you said it’s basically a sock, I never felt more seen. I was so disappointed by how weird the sailor boots just are. AND THEN THE MARS PUMPS…Honey, go home, the heel ruins it imo, I think Jimmy Choo is just trying to make it theirs? But I want Mars not Jimmy thanks. What can you wear them with, other than an awkward cosplay? The rest of the boots I’ve managed to find online at outlets like shein, primark and ASOS, all you need is some leather dye and some hope and you can recreate all these London rent price shoes. And the Luna pumps are just not trying.I do agree that some of the shoes aren’t very similar, but I think since Naoko was associated with this project, not the Anime, I think we should go off the manga ver of the characters. I think in that respect, the shoes really do fit them more. Especially since Manga SM is very high fashion in feel? Especially with Usagis shoes which do not fit the cute 14 anime sailor moon, but the very lithe model like usagi we see in the manga. Everyone’s praising the scouts shoes, but the Luna collection are primark shoes with Luna stickers on them. I CANNOT WITH THESE DESIGNERS
