When a man comes out and try to publicly disgrace the mother of his child it's easy for us to believe he is abusive. I am a Jamaican woman am I know that domestic abuse towards women is prevalent sad but true.
I feel for her and I'm glad she spoke out. For people to judge her and question why she chose to stay in an abusive relationship for 9 years is just plain stupid. Until you've been in that situation, you will never understand. It's very easy to judge. But good luck to her and I wish her all the best in life and her career.
I applaude you Ishawna!! Nuff women especially Jamaican women are scared to speak out because its becoming the 'norm' for men to just beat their partners. Big up yourself, and keep going with your career. Stay focused, you can do it!

Some of you are so dense. Placing focus on why no food was in the house and that its unbelievable. She is basically saying his priorities are not right. No woman with ambition wants to sit and waste her life with a man who is going nowhere. As far as the cheating part and who did who or whomever that's none of my business. I'm 100% against abuse, so I'm glad she was finally able to stand up and make a change. I wish her the best.
I dislike how aggressive he is getting with her. I feel this happens to much where the woman is attacked for the breakup. The guy can say whatever to hurt the woman reputation and it is okay. I believe her because she said things that only women who have truly been through those thing says.
Ishawa good for you and well done. You spoke your truth and you took a chance to spread the word about domestic violence.#SPEAKYOURTRUTH #NOMATTERWHAT. BRAVO.
I respect her so much. Not a lot of women can admit that they are being abused. Not a lot of women come out as survivors in these situations. She took responsibility for not leaving when she should have and understands the long term implication this would have on her son. And she had the courage to leave and understood loosing everything to leave did not matter because life and safety was more important. I appreciate that she shared her story and maybe it will help someone else. Pay it forward.
In Jamaica you have to go to court, they will give you a date (mine was like one week later which is a long time when you're feeling threatened). Then everybody comes to court the same time just to wait pretty much all day to get through. Then they interview you for at least two hours (they handwrite everything in a big book). Then if they think it's a plausible case you get a temporary protection order and a few weeks later they make you and your abuser come back to court at the same time to decide whether they will drop it or grant a temporary restraining order. So you actually have to be in the same small hallway with your abuser for hours before being questioned simultaneously 😩😩😩
Wow!!! I just ran across this "on stage" interview with foota and ishawna and I think it's sad but true. I am proud of how Ishawna found a way to honestly tell the public. In too many relationships today, people are being abused and not saying anything. This is wrong and the abuser who refuses to accept reality of the situation will abuse again. Real relationships are not about control, abuse or infidelity rather commitment, honesty, truth and solidarity. Learn to appreciate what you have at home, while you still have it by showing love....it's not always greener. Stay safe...........
Ishawna girl I love your courage! I can honestly say I believe every word u have said. Thanks for keeping it REAL💯. I hope others females that are going through abusive relationship take your story as an example and LEAVE . Big up yourself girl!
I hear the emotions in her voice from the start of the interview I feel is so much for this girl. From those time when she made the song murderer and I watched the video I kept wondering if futta hyphe was beating her, now those taught have being confirm. That to show everyone that it not just now or because of any sexual deviance make she leave. Ishawna live you life yaah me girl and take care a you son, it pays to learn ... i know will choose a great man to be with next time. Even when futta chat bout hw him cheat and ishawna know, and him say it as if it was nothing I was so pist. kmt
Wow! I have nothing but respect for Ishawna!!! Her open and candid discussion regarding her relationship with her abusive ex, must've been a challenge. Especially when you are following the abusers interview a week later and the person you are being interviewed by appears to be seeking specific responses/words, from you. I now have to go listen to the abusers interview to see if the same happened during his interview. The process for getting a restraining order, as she has explained it, is insane and simply adds fuel to the concept that women's rights to be free from harm, doesn't seem to matter (systematically) in some places...and THAT is a crying shame.
The duncest question in the world- why u never leave. She was 18 when she met him. A child herself. She was like play dough and very easily manipulated. She then had a child. Then she loved him. Those factors are why she ended staying through abuse. It is psychology 101. I am glad as she got the courage to leave Many dont leave. Girl. Big up to you!!!
9 years is a long time to stick it out, but enough is enough. I’m so proud of her decision to protect her space and remove herself and her son from the abusive situation. Kudos!

" Las year wen him engaged to mi when him no mi dida guh seh nah...🥵" 🤣🤣 dat part kill mi lol mi biscuit almost fly dung mi throat 😅
Majority of abused women stay in the relationship. Don't judge it's hard to get out.
Even when futta chat bout hw him cheat and ishawna know, and him say it as if it was nothing I was so pist. kmt
Best of luck to you. Every woman has their own battle and you'd be surprised how many women are living in maximum security.
She is a very intelligent woman. I understand what she went through.
More Power to you ....Ive been there 5 yrs of it...Thx God we made it out alive...many didnt hv the chance too
She is a GODDESS.
Happy that she walked away. He wants to destroy her because she found her voice.
Beautiful strong sensible woman. Stand strong and purposeful.
i love ishawna she is real man.
proud of you! so many Jamaican woman that have been abused and afriad of doing something about it, you are very brave.
The duncest question in the world- why u never leave. She was 18 when she met him. A child herself. She was like play dough and very easily manipulated. She then had a child. Then she loved him. Those factors are why she ended staying through abuse. It is psychology 101. I am glad as she got the courage to leave
Many dont leave. Girl. Big up to you!!!
Love that speak out girl..... I hope that other women will be encouraged and speak out just the same....💕💕💕💕💕
9 years is a long time to stick it out, but enough is enough. I’m so proud of her decision to protect her space and remove herself and her son from the abusive situation. Kudos!
Be strong. Don't listen to the wicked people backing abusive men. Some of these men are worthless. The next woman will find out.
