Originally posted in September 2013, this is a heavily re-edited version that runs 1m 53s shorter than the original. This is another episode from the "angry" phase, which I've tried to reduce as much as possible, especially since I had the original edit files; however, if you still find me a bit abrasive in this video, I can only apologize. The alterations include:
- *NEW* voiceover for the entire review. I was especially shrill in the original voiceover, so I had to completely do it over, as per usual for episodes of this period.
- Now in HD!
- The movie file has been re-encoded to improve the quality, and then subsequently upscaled for the best picture and sound.
- Numerous alternate takes throughout the entire review, to try and bring it into my own regular speaking voice more.
- Many trims to reduce dragging syllables in the on-camera pieces.
- The usual cuts to reduce the film clips.
- On-camera segments have been re-framed and re-colour timed; the original version hued quite yellow.
- Music in the final section has been replaced.
This was originally to coincide with the UK release of White House Down, and this re-edit is linked with both the release of Skyscraper and the 30th anniversary of Die Hard, which is this weekend. Hope you enjoy!

This is one of these movies were the bad guy thinks he is so smart while acting totally stupid yet survives the entire runtime of it because the good guy is even dumber and lets multiple occasions in taking the bad guy down, slip.
Any movie with Eric Roberts is by default AWESOME, because no one gives as much as Eric does to EVERY! SINGLE! ROLE! he plays.
I love that this movie is like a Loony Tunes version of Die Hard with Eric and Brian literally chasing each other around and outwitting each other like Bugs and Elmer Fudd. It even has cartoon physics!

Fun fact: This movie's cinematographer went on to direct The Art of War III. I guess this is where he learned how to choreograph action scenes.

The bad guy's accent was supposed to be Middle Eastern? It sounded like he was doing a bad Poirot impression.
6:37 That has to be one of the funniest most poorly edited scenes ever. One scene, Ice T is talking like normal, THE NEXT HE'S SHOUTING LIKE CRAZY, next scene, back to talking like a normal person, THEN BACK TO SCREAMING AGAIN!!!

12:26 TBH that's how I almost always feel when I hear someone from the UK do an "American" accent, especially a Southern one. It never ceases to baffle me why that accent alone is treated as *the* American accent. Of course, I'm sure it's mutual.

All these years later, this is still one of my favourite BMBs. The film really does give so much material to work with.

Those falling dummies killed me, and that scream 🤣🤣🤣. You can see them twisting into awkward positions even before they hit the ground.
That "Flamethrower" he pulled from the helicopter looked like an old super soaker they spray painted gray. It even looked streaky like with a crappy cheap spray paint.

Guys, if you want a good Die Hard knockoff, there's plenty to choose from: Air Force One, Passenger 57, Cliffhanger, Speed, Under Siege, the list goes on. Or better yet, just watch Die Hard. It's the best action movie ever made and one of the best movies period. Leave this crap in the bargain bin where it belongs

Roger Delgado will always be my favorite Master, but Eric Roberts was delightfully hammy when he played the part.

Okay I was just pretending to be weird, but yeah, in many vids you point to "I reviewed the first one last year" or "I reviewed this directors other movie" as well as some time you say it's "*insert actor's name* month" and then there will be only one or tow movie with that actor, so I cam assuming there are a few vids missing, anyway can't wait for them to all be available.

Saddest thing about that Ice-T mixup, apart from the implicit racism of course, is that between his hip-hop albums and Body Count, he was probably a BIGGER name than Madsen or Roberts! Maybe not in Hollywood, but his FACE ON THE FUCKING COVER would probably move some units!

I believe it is a fact that he recorded that voice-over in an airport toilet.
If they pulled the cord out of the coffee maker and put the wire that is plugged into the wall in the puddle of spilled coffee, how does turning on the coffee maker trigger the trap? The cord was ripped out, the switch does nothing. Meanwhile, the cord was already plugged in, so it would electrocute (in movie logic) anyone who steps in it. Not to mention that the breaker would trip as soon as the cord was put in the puddle, making the whole thing useless.

Also, re-recording the dialogue to lighten the shrillness was all fine and good, but I'm guessing re-shooting the footage to do the same is too much work?

Eric Roberts is fascinating.
I mean, obviously you get junk like this and "A Talking Cat?!?!?!?",
But then you have them in movies like "Runaway Train" and "Star 80" where he is legitimately incredible.
He's also not in any horrifically outstanding debt, as far as I know. Is he just acting for the love of acting?
I mean, his sister is Julia Roberts and his daughter is Emma Roberts. He's been acting for almost 40 years at this point, even by the time "The Alternate" had come out, he had been acting for maybe 20+ years. What is driving him, or initially gave him that push to do this garbage
I think I read an interview where the answer is legitimately that, he loves working. Same with Danny Trejo.
He was in an episode of a short lived horror show called Fear Itself.
He's a graduate of The Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art as well.

@@scottylewis8124 Wherever it was sourced, whoever found it was savvy enough to get aerial footage of the building in the film. But it being so old is probably because it was literally the only footage they could acquire of that particular building in L.A. They should have just got generic more modern shots of L.A. and then cut to their own footage.

While the normal voice, raised voice is intended for surprise effect, it changes back and forth so quickly it sounds like they insert cut a different line reading. I guess Ice couldn't do the speech in one go.

The film Bryan Genesse directed called Bad Guys was released in South Africa under the title Bad Guys in Hell. I actually spoke to two guys who worked on the film as the sound mixer and the boom operator. Apparently the whole shoot was a nightmare, one of the actors was accused of raping a set production assistant. Another actor slammed the producer up against a truck when he tried to slime his way out of paying him. Genesse himself was a real psycho, constantly threatening both his cast and crew with violence. He threatened to deck one of his leading actors, as well as having threatened to dropkick his cinematographer. Also the guy who worked as the sound mixer for the film. Took his camera along and shot some unofficial behind the scenes footage. It's lengthy but you'll get a good idea of what the circumstances on set were like.

Yikes, with those kind of stories, I don't think I'd want to check that film out, that sounds awful. Little wonder why it was barely even released.
This kind of reminds me of the Ice-t Armageddon/deep impact rip-off that could not afford that kind of plot so it's a save the hostage from a doomsday cult because he's the only one that can activate the weapon satellite and the reason ice-t chosen as they reason the cult kidnapped him because they know that he can activate the satellite and some one leaked it so they want some one out side the system so they hire arrested criminal ice-t and it's about as cheap as this maybe a little more money for affect shots

I actually thought White House Down was slightly better than Olympus Has Fallen. For the record, both movies are at least entertaining, except I thought OHF got a bit too heavy-handed at times, while WHD (Roland Emmerich's best film in a while) was more satisfying.
Neither one is really all that bad or good, and they're worth watching back to back if you're an action movie devotee like myself. What IS truly awful is OHF's sequel, London Has Fallen.
