I used my Rockwell 6s plate 6 yesterday, definitely one of my favorite razors. That brush looks great, I wish I could get that 26mm knot that's in the phantom in the amber color handle. Like you I have a blue WCS 26mm 2 tone and don't want to have the same colors in a new brush. Variety is the spice of life 😉👍💈 Have a good one! Steve

Love that AF blue Rockwell...I never thought much of a lemon scent until I was stationed in Turkey. After every meal in a restaurant over there, they offer a splash of cologne to "freshen up" and they're almost always Lemon...I got hooked...lol
Love my Rockwell 6s! But I just prepped all my stuff for my Monday AM shave tomorrow. Going with my first time using 345 soaps, I got the Derby! Smells awesome out of the jar so I’m excited. Razorock hawk and beehive brush. With PAA dapper doc aftershave!

Great shave Chris! I love my 6s. I remember the momentous day when I first used plate 6. I always used to stick with milder razors as I have bad skin that is also sensitive. But I found I would still get sore as I had to overshave using razors like the AS-D2. Now I happily use my •95 lupo and •90 Masamune Nodachi. I was amazed how smooth plate 6 was on the Rockwell. Rockin' Rockwell shave Chris! Rockwell makes fine razors. My only complaint is that the plates should be in numerical order . Having plates 1/3 and 2/4 just does not make sense to me, but I am nitpicking. I like my Rockwell razors because I rately nick myself. I am on autopilot when I shave with them. Hello! Thanks for the invite to drop a comment. I’m new to this type of shaving and very much still on the learning curve. I changed to single blade shaving because my skin is so sensitive. I started with a Rockwell R1 ‘Rookie’ and after a month or two (and after your video on it) I purchased a Rockwell 6S. I’m on the milder settings still (3 on the 1st and 2nd pass, 1 on the 3rd pass) and prefer the milder blades at the moment. Maybe that will change but for now, and compared with the cartridge razors I used, it’s Shaving Nirvana. I do have a question about bowl lathering: Do you have a video on that topic? Or perhaps you know of a video explaining how that works? Do you scoop soap out or just load the brush and then start lathering?

I'm 50% with you. On the latter I agree, I've love to see a 7/8 plate. On the former I'm not sure. The blades are a tight fit in rockwell razors and that little bit of tab sometimes helps in getting the blade on and keeping things straight.
I find plate 5 to be the sweet spot on my Rockwell 6C, the only issue I have is the threading doesn’t feel very tight so not sure how long it’ll last. Do the think the coloured finishes on the 6S will be durable? Also just bought a couple of brushes from the Murphy & McNeill used marketplace - only $10 shipping to the UK, very impressive!

Hi Chris. I’m a relatively new safety razor dome shaver and have the 6S and the Futur. The Futur is incredible for the efficient and BBS shaves however I do get some irritation from it. The 6S i get a decent shave from the 5 plate with plenty of passes. The 6 plate being the perfect balance of BBS and caution needed. How do single blade razors compare for head shaving in your opinion? Any recommendations? Really love the channel and helped me loads, especially the recent lathering video, a game changer for me. (UK watcher).
I don't use very many SE on the dome with the exception of the Twig. I do like it on the head. It's mostly about trial and error and figuring out what works best for you. Thanks so much for the kind words Chris.
Do you prefer the PAA phantom Aerolite or the AP shave co Silk Smoke? Perhaps Neither? I’d like one more synthetic brush and have narrowed it down to those two brushes. Super affordable, but I don’t need both.

That's a lot of shaves from that blade Chris. Have you tried hand stropping them to hopefully squeeze another couple of shaves in?
I have not stropped it yet. Last time I used one of these I was well into double digits with it.

I would like to see Rockwell widen the top cap to cover the blade tabs, and I would welcome a plate 7/8.

I love all the APShaveco knots except the silk smoke. It's not quite as soft as I like. So between those two it's obviously the Phantom:)
