Historically you will see that we always have a dip when the weather and field conditions deteriorate. As long as we maintain a six to nine point lead until February, we will be fine.
Alan Morrison described how to set up against Celtic - big Jim must have read it. We're so poor through the middle. Not one central midfielder could take the ball on the turn (like Rogic or MOR) and pass forward.

We're now experiencing the knock on effect of an extremely poor summer 2023 transfer window. If our current squad is fully fit (and we're not playing in a hurricane) then we comfortably beat Dundee Utd 9/10 times. But take out 4-5 first team players and we're suddenly looking to guys like Yang/Palma. Our two first choice CB's were out today, so where were Nawrocki & Lagerbileke? One STILL can't get in the team ahead of Welsh and the other is sitting on the bench in Holland. Kwon is currently on the Hibs (yes Hibs!!) bench. None of this is a huge problem until you get a run of sickness/injury and you have to look around at the back up guys..... We have a lot of work to do in January in terms of OUTGOINGS as well as a couple of quality players coming in. We still need to trim the squad, which I know sounds counter intuitive given our subs bench isn't really good enough, but in order to bring in 2-3 quality players we need to get about 6-7 guys off the wage bill. Our squad has been "stress tested" today and it was found wanting. It's not the end of the world etc.... and it is very fixable but fix it we must!
Just watched Liverpool demolish Ange's Spurs. They have been playing all season with virtually the same fourteen players. A smaller high quality squad is the wat to go.

I don’t want to misquote Alan Morrison or anyone on his podcast, so this may be a somewhat incorrect recounting: There are two tremendously worrying issues here. 1) Statistically, over a good long spell, Celtic/Rangers games are near dead heats and (following being my opinion) the form of the two teams could hardly be moving in opposite directions at a more rapid rate. 2) Alan’s Yank pal, correctly in this case, hypothesized that guys like Cerny can be match-winners in the series of park-the-bus games both teams face over the season. This league lead could evaporate rapidly over the next 6-or-so weeks. I’ve also watched a fair bit of YB games in Europe passively. They are much better than Bratislava and Celtic on this form would be lucky to collect a point. The ice is a lot thinner here than most fans would want to believe domestically and in Europe. Aston Villa (and potentially Rangers at Ibrox) will laugh Celtic off the park unless many things change quickly.
Villa will beat us regardless of our form at that time. We will get our act together for thr Ibrox game. We usually do ! Both Aberdeen and Rangers will drop points just as wee will. If we come through the Christma period six or nine points ahead of the pack, we will be fine.

Knee jerk reaction. A point today isn't too bad, considering that line up. An 11 point lead is called a cushion for a reason, and a day like today is why the early season work is priceless.

Mikey Johnston just wasn't suited to Celtic. I always said he'd do well at a decent level for any club where the expectation to win every single game isn't there and he's not up against a 10 man defence every week. The midfielders need to open they're eyes. The runs getting made by kyogo and maeda and theyre not getting picked out. Game after game this is happening.

Since Brugge we have been awful to watch. Returning to last year, where every game for 70% of the season, we were dire to watch. All the possession, but side to side shite. Missed a couple of sitters too. Defence has done its job for the most part, mid to front piss poor, Yang and Palma need punted. Both a waste of a jersey. Another frustrating day watching the team. They need to get their finger out and soon. Nowhere near good enough.

In terms of distribution from the back, I think I'd rather see Welsh play ahead of Scales, if and when one or the other is needed. Scales is probably a better defender, but when you're gonna have 75% possession I think Welsh is a better option.

Rodgers once again completely insistent upon his narrow central overload strategy, up against such a congested, narrow low-block, and utilising minimum width on both flanks - especially in the attacking transition. As a result there is absolutely zero intensity and penetration in the high threat zones, resulting in minimum creativity and scoring opportunities. Narrow underlaps and overlaps don’t stretch an opposition holding a deep narrow defensive line…maybe someone should enlighten Saint Brendan. His only Plan B is waiting until the 60th minute to inject a bit of life in the team by replacing duds with more duds (excluding Bernardo). Such an ingenious elite manager we have! 🤦🏻♀️ The same manager that actually believes Taylor, Ralston, Yang, Palma, Welsh and Co, deserve to be playing for Glasgow Celtic. The missed firts team players, the high winds and the surface conditions acted in United's favor. Bring back our 8njured , sick players, play the game at Parkhead under moderate weather conditions, and the result would probably be 3, to 4 zero to us. Those factors I mentioned above do affect outcome.

Today's result, for me, is a minor annoyance within the context of the season so far but we definitely need to find that spark that has been missing the past few weeks. Hopefully we pick up our form and don't drop anymore points until the end of the transfer window. With some players leaving and a few quality signings we will blow the 2nd half of season away. 🍀
Inverted full back has us going side and backwards. Valle at least gets Maeda and others going forward. Taylor just gets in everyone’s way.

I’ve been saying for a few seasons we do not have a creative midfielder, and that needs fixed in this window
