    Thanks so much. Fantastic video, relevant and professional. Spent my Christmas Eve with you man because we asked and you delivered. Would love to see a vid about using surround reverbs, busses and routing etc for surround sound, FMP etc. Happy Christmas.

      Yes, any advice on using reverbs would be welcome. how to use aux input with 7.1.2 reverbs.

    Thanks for the in depth explanation! I always found that there were steps missing in both Avid and Dolby’s tutorials.

    You’re the Man! Thanks a lot for making it easier to understand, sometimes the manuals speak a language of their own… thanks again, subscribed on the fly!

    Sheps says that if you use objects instead of beds, they fold down to binaural with their panniong data, but the beds fold down arbitarily based on level. You have to keep Lfe in the beds

    Fantastic vid, man! This is on par, or even better, than the videos I've seen by Dolby, themselves! Cheers

    You pointed it out! Avid must put this into protools directly…

      Yes!! At the NAMM Show a couple of weeks ago, Avid showed a pre-release version of Pro Tools with wider track and bus widths i.e. a 7.1.4, 9.16 tracks and busses which I take as a good sign! These wider tracks had to be there before they can implement the Renderer. One step at a time...

    U can do Dolby Atmos in Logic, Cubase, Nuendo and Divinci resolved on Windows u don't have to use pro tools and a mac.

      Of course, this video is Specifically about pro tools and Dolby-atmos.

      Problem is some key funtionality is only in the Atmos Production or Mastering suites but Dolby don't licence the Mastering Suite to Windows and Production Suite is only MacOS. Even though you can download and install Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite on Windows, Dolby distributors don't allow you to buy a licence without an RMU even though I know some users are running it on Windows without an RMU on same machine as their DAW.
      Also Dolby for some reason don't make available their VST panner to Windows users so even though you can run the rendererby connecting Windows to a Mac with Production suite you cannot actually send any panning metadata to the renderer unless you use a DAW that has a Dolby Atmos panner included which happens to be the same DAWs with built in renderers or ProTools only which is rather limiting workflows from Dolby imo.

      @@SamHocking So what exactly is missing in Nuendo/Cubase regarding Atmos, compared to the external Dolby renderer?

    • @SamHocking
      @SamHocking ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tvacc6174 The main one is the dd+joc.mp4 export which is what you need to hear the Apple Spatial render or play back on consumer devices only exists in Dolby Renderer. Others like spatial coding emulation, speaker alignment, rerenderer feature set etc.

      Hello! Short answer is, I don’t know.
      The longer answer is it could based on specs but it depends on the size of your projects, etc.
      Since it’s a Windows machine it will have to run as an external CPU Dolby renderer as opposed to running the Dolby Renderer software on the same computer as Pro Tools.
      This requires a dante or MADI connection between the two CPUs.
