It's a new experience you haven't felt at Cedar Point ever before! Climb into a two-person capsule and get launched 360 feet into the air (only second in height to the towering Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster)!
After some brief weightlessness, you'll bounce up and down until your capsule comes to rest at the launch point.

Several years ago, a friend of mine rode this ride here in Montana.. Seconds after the launch, the cables on one side of the seat broke, sending him and his friend flying violently to one side, while repeatedly being hit with the broken cable. Because the cable was extremely hot, (due to the 90+ degree weather), they both received several third degree burns all over their arms and their legs. They were yanked and jolted around for several minutes, which seemed like an eternity. My friend and his buddy were both rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Thankfully they both survived, but were left with serious injuries and burns.
I have always wanted to ride it, but now I won't even consider it.

Bungee cord snaps on Ejection Seat ride; 2 injured
(Wednesday, August 2, 2006) - At the Montana State Fair in Great Falls, Montana, two men were injured on a slingshot-type thrill ride when a bungee cord snapped. The ride, a reverse-bungee catapult ride called the Human Slingshot Ejection Seat, consists of two steel towers with a bungee cord connected to each tower. The other ends of the cords are attached to a caged steel vehicle in which riders are seated. The vehicle is pulled to the ground, where riders board. When the vehicle is released from the loading station, the bungee cords engage, sending riders on a high-speed vertical launch into midair.
A witness who watched from the ground told Montana's Great Falls Tribune that, as the bungee cords stretched, she watched as one of them "shredded like confetti." The cage went crashing into the tower to which the second cord was still connected. The riders were left hanging sideways in the vehicle, 70 feet in the air, until fair workers untangled the cords around the vehicle and lowered it to the ground.
One of the riders suffered a large welt on his head. The other suffered what he described as "cable burn" all over his right arm.
The ride has been repaired, retested, and reopened.

8.3.06 - At the Montana State fair two men were injured when the 'Human Slingshot Ejection Seat' attraction's cable snapped.
Operators then lowered the two men to the ground after about 5 to 10 minutes. One of the men went to the hospital for observation.
Following a test with carnival employee volunteers, the Ejection Seat reopened Wednesday for business.
Montana does not have an amusement safety inspection program. However the carnival manager was quick to point out that, "More people die falling off chairs and other furniture annually than at carnivals."

Bitch this is no state fair this is cedar point and if anything happened to anyone they would be in SERIOUS trouble. This place is called the rollercoaster capital of the world they’ve had very few accidents and if there are any it’s the fault of human error. And not just workers lol
Also speaking from experience this ride is amazing. Lol so funny to watch people pass out and shit but here I am flying 360 feet in the air having an excited quite casual conversation about the view 😂which is me on literally every ride
Also, carnivals are unsafe af. Usually none of the ride operators speak English and if u have a problem you better figure it out. My friends restraint wasn’t buckled on a ride that went upside down but the workers wouldn’t listen bc they didn’t even know what she was saying. Didn’t check the restraints, didn’t do anything. State fairs/carnivals are unsafe ash and it’s your choice to put yourself in that danger

It's for safety they have to different people to check so nothing happens if one guy did maybe to lose or not buckled all the way you get hurt and try to sue. That's part of there jobs they have to. Just like other rides at cedar point and other places the skyjump in Las Vegas and if u go skydiving. U want them to make sure your tight and safe and won't die

Awesome! Like the guy says, if you don't want almost nothing for two minutes, skip ahead to 2:25 when the springs are tensioned or 3:20 when the ride is launched.

That was the FUNNEST ride I'd ever been on!! I was laughing HYSTERICALLY after it was over!! I could see the Cleveland skyline from the apex of the ride!! My brother and his wife said,when they'd seen the ride,they decided:"No WAY are we getting on THAT"dangerous"ride!! I told them,they were cowards,and the ride was safe and absolutely EXHILERATING!!
It's a fun ride. Never a long ride. Cost $25/person. I personally loved it.

I waited 4 years to see this and expected to see both cord snap and the girls go like a cannonball out into the lake.

How do you get back down?
The ropes are connected to motors that spin and slowly let them come down. That's how it creates tension to shoot them up, also.

A black haired guy gets into the left seat (right side from our perspective), and as he is being secured he changes to a blond haired woman.

+Antonio Rodriguez trust me i know you feel the spirit coming out of you once those rides go downhill And fast, i was like everyone else, but my first thrill ride was King da Kha in six flags i can tell you thats the one that made me go to all the thrill rides no matter which one it is im going. Its all a matter of screaming of happiness and you'll realize it aint that bad and get the hang of it. Its my advice to y'all cause ive been there. We dont know what we're missing till we do it.
