With drones becoming more popular, it is hard to write off birdshot for tactical shotgun
If you watch any of the videos you can’t really see them because of how high they are. And if you’re in combat realistically you’d never notice it coming.
@@mattpolinsky4234 tons of the type of drones if it is just the dji style of drones birdshots work (not the greatest tho). I agree that realistically you will never notice it coz battiefield is loud and drone by comparison is quiet. But there are footage of wagner group successfully shoot down drones with side by side shotgun presumably using birdshot

I love my 940 JM pro. I've put everything from 3in slugs and buckshot, down to light whitebox target loads. It all cycles flawlessly.
I’ve had this shotgun about six months now no problems, I fired about 750 rounds, and finally decided to clean it. It did not look like it really needed it either. No problems, no misfires, no bad feed, and it just took everything I put in it.
Ya. It will keep running, but taking it apart will be a b!tch.

Eric, that particular shotgun has YOU written all over it Brother. The slow motion of you hitting those 2 liters with slugs rapid fire showed you were dead on just hammering those cokes, some of them as they were falling even. That kind of natural shooting speed and accuracy is what it's all about. She's a keeper!!!!!
Just gotta love those 2 liters vaporizing!! Got hooked on blowing those up, with my 10 1/2" Super Blackhawk, with 240 gr JHPs, about 40 years ago!! Pretty good job on the watermelons too!! :D

watching berneke ammo do it's thing is always a joy. i initially learned of it from an OG ballistics channel back before ballistics gel became popular. dude split his water barrel with a hexolit shell.

@@MaynardFreek The A300 seems to be a more budget-minded 1301 by the manufacturer trying to hit a price point.
The Mossburg 940 Pro tactical is a 7+1 in the chamber and you can ghost load. Drop it in the chamber and release the slide forward then load your other 7 rounds in the tube.
My 940 can only fit 6 (2-3/4) shells out of the box
I picked up a 940 tactical and a field model. Stripped them down and oiled them up. Took them out and burn through 250 skeet loads in less then an hour. Both ran perfectly. Hundreds more have been through both since including slugs and buck shot. Love the 940!
Don’t you need a rifled barrel for slugs and the 940 doesn’t have that?

It's a clone of the Beretta so...
It’s better than the patrol because the patrol doesn’t have the self cleaning gas system like the 940 tactical pro does. The 940 is also going to be faster. You want to compare this to the beretta 1301 which has its own self cleaning design different than Mossbergs one in this 940 tactical pro. Hope that helps.
Dude, I really can't believe NO ONE has a good comparison video of the 940PT vs the A300UP. Blows my mind.

@@TheOfficialCaseMade Yup, same here. I'm not stepping myself into the $1600-1800 price range though. If anything, I'm stepping down to a good old and reliable pump-action 590A1.
@@markn4526 well, from what little I've seen online, it seems like the 940PT is hit or miss. Apparently Mossberg isn't really consistent with semi shotguns like they are pumps.

Anyone who has one that doesn't run low brass (cheap walmart stuff) I had this issue, and I noticed that the upgrade Or3gun tube just has holes in it. I drilled several holes in mine ( looks like Swiss cheese) and it runs everything. Be sure to clean it up of shavings/burrs

Mossberg has a solid reputation for reliability, and this shotgun seems to uphold that tradition. I'm impressed with the factory configuration and can see this being a fantastic value for those looking for a versatile and reliable semi-auto shotgun.

This is the budget version of the Berretta 1301/Benellie M4 from a solid company, which is exactly what youd want. If i could trade in my sa20 and throw a couple more bills towards one of these i definitley would.

When I was young, eleven or twelve years old, my dad and I discovered that I am left eye dominant. I grew up and lived and still live in South Dakota, I spent much of my life hunting with a shotgun. Being left eye dominant, I needed a shotgun that is left-handed friendly. So, I started with a Browning BPS in 20 gauge and eventually moved up to a Browning BPS in 12 gauge. I have hunted with these pump action shotguns my entire life. They have the safety up on the tang where this Mossberg 940 shotgun and many other Mossberg shotguns have the safety. A few years ago, I bought a Benelli M2 Field shotgun. It has the safety in the traditional place down on the trigger guard. Well, I took it hunting and when I flushed a rooster pheasant, I shouldered my Benelli shotgun and tried to shoot Mr. Rooster Pheasant. I could not figure out where the safety was, I never took that shotgun hunting again and eventually sold it. Hunting pheasants, you have about three seconds from the time they flush, to the time they are out of range. Having the safety up on the tang where Mossberg puts it, means I can instinctually figure out where the safety is in a stressful situation or one where stress and time matter. I now own a Mossberg 940 JM pro shotgun, not the tactical one, the bigger one with the nine-shot tube. This shotgun has proven to be very reliable, accurate and dependable; I love this thing! And the safety is where I want it to be!
The tang safety is by far the best safety. I wish all brands used it.
If you open both eyes it doesn't matter which eye is dominant.
Eye dominance is exeragerted it's a preference, but it does not mean you need to switch hands. You can train your brain to use either eye.
Before you get it check out the beretta a300 ultima patrol, these are very close in price.

I just bought a semi recently…I was going back and forth between this one and the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol….I went with the Beretta.

The 940 pro tactical is a awesome shotgun… I bought mine at GT distributor in Rossville ga for 969.00 out the door… thanks buddy…
It would be a great shot gun for $600 bucks, but for a $1000 it's sub par. The stock on mine broke after 10 rounds of 00. Mossberg quickly sent a replacement which was awesome but it shouldn't have broken in the first place. The butt pad is rock hard vs the super nice one from the 930 which is softer on the shoulder. And no mlok on the fore grip is a mistake and needs a redesign so you can properly mount a flashlight or other accessories to it (IMO) of course. Still a decent shot gun but if the A300 came out first I'd probably have bought it instead.
Mossberg customer service is outstanding because they have more practice than anyone else in the industry.
I had horrible luck with my 930s, Mossberg was great about sending parts though.
Sold 'em cheap and decided Never Again about Mossberg semis

Retail for that shotgun is $1189, I bought mine for $860, if you look they can still be found for under a $1000, shoots just as good as my Beretta 1301@@FernandoChaves

Bought the 940 Pro Waterfowl yesterday. Glad to see you like the 940.
I dnt know what to do now..I was thinking about pulling the trigger on a new beretta a300 ultima patrol...but now after seeing this idk..any thoughts one what one to get? Only roughly $150 difference in price.
The Mossberg is cut for a micro red dot. Sits nice and low. If that matters to you. Awesome shotgun, but so is the Berretta. I bought the 940. Love it. Hate the dumb sling mounts it comes with. Berretta probably the same though.
I have this gun, and I love it. It's smooth, fast, and eats everything I've put through it. My only issue is the cheap barrel clamp - I'm replacing it w/ a proper GG&G setup. I also like not having a fixed post front sight - especially with the red dot. They also could've put some MLOK slights in the front of the handguard like Beretta did.
I've got a 940 JM Pro for competitions. It's a fantastic shotgun, so I have no doubt the 940 Tactical is excellent!

I have owned both. Sold the Beretta kept the Mossberg.
both are sick, however A300 doesnt have the double feed problem that the 940 has. im waiting for mossberg to remove that feature before buying one. for now because of that, i would say go A300.
I have one and I found out how to ghost load it. Chamber a round. Fill the mag tube. Take an extra shell push it into the tube but the shell latches won’t grab it. Pull your thumb out and it will spit that shell onto the lifter and it will cycle no problem

I've looked at some comments from owners of the 940 tactical and they said that after shooting 7 rounds the gun would jam after four or Five rounds . Other customers have had the same complaints. Mossberg has not addressed the complaint. Getting a Beretta 1301.

I'm a Benelli guy myself, as I own an M2 Tactical for home defense. however, I will admit, that Mossberg makes some pretty good shotguns as well
I love Mossberg, but I wouldn't spend YOUR money on a Mossberg semi.
I've had two. They run well until something breaks and something always breaks sooner than it should. Mossberg customer service is topnotch though.
There are several other better options out there.
Beretta A300, 1301, Benelli M2 and M4, Sauer...even FN SLP if you can find one.

Brass height doesn’t matter with modern plastic shotgun shells, some are even all plastic! You can load the heaviest 2 3/4” load possible into low brass or high brass and it’ll never know the difference.

I want one real bad . Bought the family body armor instead . Both of my shotguns are A5’s from the 30s and 40s . They work but I want something modern .

I honestly believe a pump action is a simple shotgun. Yes there are Semi Autos that are very nice, just the common single gun owner may best be served with a pump action. Ive owned Rem 870s and Moss 500s are my personal choice. Stevens 320 Short Barrel SG are a steal for under $150. Just practice and you are covered on shotguns. Good luck.
I have the M4, 1301 and A300 Ultima, but the old reliable Mossberg 500 stays loaded by the bed.

With Flite Control from the 1301, it stays in the shot cup at 10 yards. It’s just how I zeroed the gun when I put the dot on.

I love my SPX 930, but I wish it didn't have the huge HUGE front sight.
That's the one thing I didn't like about this gun ...in my opinion good durable ghost ring sights can't be beat on a combat shotgun . But everyone likes what they like.

My 940 keeps having failures to extract. Im shooting slugs through it but only around 70 shells through it right now

Get two. Because if you need to send it back (like my malfunctioning new out of the box 930SPX was) you will make lots of phone calls to their who-cares customer service and wait months to get it back.

Load the 940 JM PRO, bolt open or closed, press the bolt release button and INSTANT JAM. Is this just me? The bolt release opens the mag tube and feeds 2 shells at a time. Does the Tactical version do this?
