@@musiclover148 As a grandmother, I think the 'terrible two's' were manufactured by Dr. Spock and his generation who thought that mother's should be hosting more cocktail parties than toddler playdates. (Makes me think of 'Mad Men', my mom's generation.) Not to promote helicopter parenting but a generation later we realized that the 'better seen than heard' parenting style wasn't effective. We melded our adult lifestyles with our children's needs and the children began having healthier egos. Unfortunately just about that time the powers-that-be seem to have decided that having children was horrible for the planet and we parents were suddenly the baddies. It makes me sad for my children and Ollie and Josh who should absolutely be able to share their love and lives with children of their own. Whoa, so sorry for assuming a soapbox.

종교를 떠나서 흔한 문화인데 보통은 아버지의 친한 친구가 대부가 되는 경우가 많고(누군가의 대부가 된다는게 그만한 신뢰와 친밀감을 필요로하는거라 굉장히 honorable하게 여겨요) 대부는 아이를 자기 자식처럼 아끼고 보살펴주고 만약 아이 아버지가 먼저 돌아가신경우 아버지 역할을 대신해주기도해요 :)
다들 잘 설명해 주신 것 같네요!예전에 종교 박해 때 아이의 부모가 죽는 경우가 많았고 믿을 수 있거나 친한 분들을 대부나 대모(godfather, godmother)로 두고 혹여나 부모님을 잃을 경우 보호자 역할 을 해주는 경우가 많았다고 해요!
그리고 세례를 받는데 대모님이나 대부님이 필요 하답니다!(제가 천주교 신자라서 다른 종교에서는 다를 수 있어요!) 세례를 받는데 증인인 동시에 보통 신앙적으로 본받고 싶은 분이나 친한 분에게 부탁을 할 수도 있어요(유아세례를 받는 경우에는 부모님과 각별한 사이인 경우가 많을 듯 하네요!) 대모,대부님은 신앙생활을 이끌어주고 가르쳐주기도 하는 역할도 가지고 있어요! 그냥 넓게 보면 보호자가 한분 더 생긴다고 볼 수 있겠네요! 고민도 털어놓고 밥도 먹고 여러가지 일들을 같이 하기도 하거든요:)
