- Recently little Juno turned 1, and so we put her in a beautiful traditional Korean Hanbok dress and celebrated Korean style! Just in time for Chuseok too!

Instead of doing the traditional Dol Jabi for our daughter’s first birthday, we used those little toy plastic fruits and let her choose a “fruit of the spirit.” She went for the banana, which we labeled as “joy.” 😊

I'm impressed she didn't cry. I hate the texture of the fabric used for hanboks. They're really uncomfortable. There's a picture of a one year-old me wearing a hanbok crying my eyes out, surrounded by overwhelming amounts of food in trays. I'm not the only one...
All my brother's kids cried their eyes out on their first birthdays when they had to wear hanboks.
