I missed attending the the Pebble Beach Races by one year having moved to Pacific Grove n August of 1957 . However I was at the first race Laguna Seca race November of 1957 directing traffic with our Pacific Grove Boy Scout Troop 49. That began my lifelong interest in cars and 40 years living on the Peninsula and attending many Laguna Seca races. I went on to work for Ole Andersson at Scandia Motors then 4 years, 1968-1972, working for Jack Flaherty at British Motors of Monterey, 4 years as Service Manager at Mazda/Honda and then 14 more years as a District manager/Factory Rep. First for Mazda Motors of America 7 1/2 years and then BMW followed by Mercedes-Benz of No America. I have owned over 100 cars to include my first, a 1953 MG TD MK II bought in 1965 from Geoff Green owner of British Automotive Imports, then a very rare racer..a Fairthorpe Electron Climax, more MGs and so on. Currently I have a 1963 MGB which I drive daily. PS I supply Laguna Seca Raceway souvenir store with "Vintage" first year poster. As a retirement enterprise I create auto and cycle logo art here in Jacksonville , Oregon. Outstanding film. Thanks so much.
A great many posts are going to say this is a great video. That accolade doesn't even come close. I am an old timer from the East Coast and remember reading about the races through the pine trees with guys I have read about, guys I have met and guys I got to spend some real time with.Thank you so much. Will watch many more times.
i am glad laguna seca has the rolex reunion to preserve the history of local history! i feel like most people, unless you are a generational resident of the area, do not know of the history. i had no idea until a few years ago, and i am from socal!
I’ve been to “car week” a number of times in Monterey, so I appreciate this recapturing of history. Just curious, are there any markers denoting the old race course (or parts of it)?

Peter Brock is amazing!!!!
Great video ! Lots of wonderful footage and interviews, well done.
So amazing to have people come out of the woodwork to actually give us this footage that they thought no one would ever want to see.
Is beautiful ❤

What a great track!!!
This was a great reward to those awesome and brave servicemen who survived the bloodbath of WWII. God Bless Curtis LaMay for getting this started!
Amazing time in racing history!!

No, they actually put building on the start finish line. So the majority of the track is still there but you would never know.
@ Thank you.
You need BK, Bruce Kessler, to say a thing or two😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I had the pleasure to interview him for an upcoming Scarab documentary. Stay tuned. Also, I have a book on Amazon about him.
What an excellent documentary. Thank you.
Thank you!!! My pleasure to share
Mare to come!!!! Like and subscribe!!!
Pebble beach isn't really in Northern California. Northern California is north of San Francisco, also north of Marin County.
No, but they consider Pebble and the surrounding area as Northern California for racing purposes and SCCA.
