Being fairly new to Ableton, Impulse is something I hadn't stumbled on. The limitations are what interests me. I wonder if the additional flexibility using a drum rack and introducing new instances of impulse onto it has a cost in terms of CPU usage. Also, I really liked the multiple outputs workaround method of setting an additional audio channel to listen for the required output. It will seem a bit clunky to some people but one of the things that taxes me about instrument racks is that I'm not seeing it all, all of the time. I work quite minimally without loads of lanes. I like to be able to follow visually what I'm hearing. Although Ableton has grown enormously, your videos explore options I would never have found. I really like how that gives the opportunity to make use of incredibly diverse facilities in limited ways. To me, it's like a childhood experience of an encyclopaedia. All that knowledge is there to be had if and when you need it but you don't have to carry it all. Sometimes, looking up one thing leads to the discovery of something adjacent that inspires a change of direction (also possibly a time consuming but ultimately wasteful distraction). I have a theory that gear acquisition syndrome works that way. Instead of making music we spend all our time wrestling with unfamiliar tech, looking for a sound.😢
Hello, how do I map my midi controller's drum pads to the Impulse? I can use my piano sectino on my controller for Impulse, but none of the drum pads work for it. No matter how I transpose them.
Hi there. I have a key map question for Ableton 10. I want to assign a shortcut for recording in session view, when ever I arm a new track. Is this possible? I can make it work for one perticular track but then when I choose another track it doesn't work. Perhaps you know what to do. Tnx
hello, i encountered a few problems here. i inserted a new midi column and make some impulses. however, when i added the 3rd column for impulse, the 1st impulses cannot be heard. does anyone encountered this problem? can anyone help me please? thank you
