    • @MikeGreenwood51

If they got out. The public would likly run. Run the hell away after seeing a hand appear out of the cemetery grave. Wringgling those fingers as if they are full of life, yet dead. Then that ghostlyfingered limb starts digging a deeper hole till eventually a whole mound breaks open and a headed torso sits up spitting outthe sil and shaking it from what bits the maggots didn't eat. I can not see the Public sticking around another second saying 'Allo Ronnie' How you been doing,? Were you up stairs or downstairs?
Then for real if the real talking really began and Ronnie opened his mouth muttering 'I did mine, It's time for you to do yours'. Just as most Public wouldn't care to sit in the same room with Frankenstein they would leave the entire double decker bus empty if the living dead walking corpse of Ronnald Kray got on asking for a single to Valance Road.

@@mariolisa2832 I don't need to speak for every business but the police did and so did the court. The Kray firm was broken up and jailed because of their violent and murderous activities which included protection rackets. Everybody knew what they were doing. I used to know someone who collected money from business owners on behalf of the Kray firm and he was quite clear nobody was asking for protection. The only people they needed protection from WAS the Krays. Don't take it from me though. The Krays wrote books while they were in prison in which they ADMITTED to running protection rackets. Geoffrey Pearson was allowed access to their lives BY the Kray twins as those two vain idiots wanted their story told. His book also details their activities in depth. They were all given lengthy jail sentences for activities which included running protection rackets. These are facts which all the Kray fanboys in here refuse to see. You are welcome to believe that the Krays were benevolent local businessmen. Just don't try to convince me. I'm from Stepney and EVERYBODY knew of the Krays and what they did. Only uninformed fools believe they were misunderstood nice guys.

The twins would never have stood for muggings and the sort of street crime that's going haywire today. In those days the East End was a better and safer place for the general public to live in, and I feel a bit proud of that. I'd have been tempted to give that reporter a smack in the mouth for that remark. Yes, the Krays were violent criminals no-one is disputing that. However, Charlie was right, compared to the criminal element of today, his brothers kept and dealt with things very much 'in-house' and didn't involve the public. Ronnie died whilst still incarcerated in Broadmoor and the authorities only released Reggie when they knew he was dying of cancer, it was nothing more than a token gesture which reflected very badly on them, not Reggie. The twins were made an 'example' of by the judicial system and the only criminals who have suffered a similar length of imprisonment since are serial killers (who have murdered totally innocent people). The Krays victims, in many ways, 'had it coming' so to speak. That for me, is the difference (and a sizeable one at that) between the Krays and the likes of Denis Nielsen, The Yorkshire Ripper, The Moors Murderers etc...

They were not controlling 'The Thugs'. They were the thugs. The violent punch-ups which occured in a proprietor's club was started by the Krays so as to give reason for the proprietor to pay extortion payments. Cornel was the only one of the three murdered who was not a member of the Kray Firm.
