This guy went from uploading videos about GTA 4 and how to find helicopters to uploading sick music. Keep up the good Work !
😎 thanks dude!
Awesome Wes. Keeping the spirit of Helmets legacy alive. 😊
Thanks!! 😊🙏
Capturing the spirit of Stanier effortlessly ! Nice one
Thanks!!
Nice matching snare sound (and also STP Purple shirt!)
Thanks bro!! Purple is a fantastic album!
@@WesHampson Sure! It is my no. 1 STP album!
absolutely unbelievable drum tone 🔥
Thanks man!!
Dude you're like the only drummer doing Helmet covers on TH-cam that has the snare tuned right. Killer stuff.
Thank you man 🤜🤛
And what’s that tuning?
He does. No question.
The snare goes hard 🐟
Thanks man!
That’s how it’s done. Killer job man.
Thank you kind sir
I literally love this song and this cover I discovered helmet one day while listening to shuffle radio on Yt music in class I had to listen again and again and again, then I found this cover the same night I literally the richest junk dealer lol 😆 under Wilma’s Rainbow of Peaceful Colors, 4 months now almost every day I listen to this cover fucking slaps my brain lobes with love

@@WesHampson mind checking out my guitar cover of this song? would appreciate it dearly
Hell yeah dude. Great cover!!!! I really need to get into the Betty album
Thank you! Highly recommend 😁
@@WesHampson I dig it. Not as much as in the meantime but that’s only because I’m not as familiar with it
👏👏👏
Very good !!!
Thanks dude!!
Nice!
Thanks, world’s best cup of coffee!! ☕️
Amazing stuff man, John Stanier is easily my favourite drummer.
Thanks dude! Yeah Stanier has had a huge influence on my playing in recent years.
Incredible cover. If you haven't already, you should make a video on how you tune your snare. Been after a similar sound for years.
Thanks man! That’s a good idea…
FUCK YES DUDE.
Thank you!! 🙏🙏
Hard af
🤘😎🤘
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Kit sounds great. I think John played an Artstar II in Helmet back in the day. Do some Battles covers!
Thank you man!! Yeah I think he did!! I love these drums
i would watch your Where Boys Fear to Tread drum cover as a teen now im 26 lmaoo
Haha hell yeah dude! Glad you’re still around 😊
DAAAAMN BRO! Nice drum kit and snare!!!! And your drum playing is awesome!!! I have some questions. What drum kit is that??? And What snare Do You use and How many lugs has it? Cause I have a steel swingstar with 8 lugs and I want to have tight sound but I haven’t found any videos. I know that 10 lugs is better but I don’t have that much money. I wonder what kit you had cause I’m getting an vintage Yama swingstar drum black colour.
Btw as I said! LOVE YOUR DRUMMING!!
Thank you dude!! Kit is a Tama Artstar II from the early 90s, thick maple shells and deep toms. Snare is a Pearl Free Floater w/ a brass shell from the late 80s, 10 lugs, cranked real tight. 10 lugs isn’t necessarily better, but I do think you can get more control of your overtones with more lugs. I also have a steel swingstar w/ 8 lugs and I can get it to sound pretty tight, not quite as tight as this one but still with a firm crack. Make sure you really crank the resonant head as much of the snap lies in there. 🤘🤘
@@WesHampson Aha thanks for the tips dude! I also want a Artstar But it’s hard to get where i live!
Great playing! Wow! Does John speed up a bit 2 times?
He definitely does at the end of the song! Listen to the first couple of bars of the song then skip to the end, HUGE difference!
Great video, you can do "harmless" of helmet?
Thank you! That’s a good idea….
Any chance you’d upload some samples on that snare somewhere? Looking for that helmet snare tone for my recordings.
Nice! What's your snare brand and dims?
Thanks man! This is a 1st gen Pearl Free Floating snare w/ brass shell, 6.5x14”. None of the lugs touch the shell, hence “free floating” and I can switch the shell out with different materials when I take the head off (I have steel and maple shells too). It’s also got extended snare wires.
Yo i’m learning this song right now, where did you get the drumless track?
I don’t have a drumless track, I’m just playing along to the song. If you listen closely you can hear the original drum track underneath mine.
You might be able to use some AI tool to “remove” the drums from the original song, but I don’t know much about how to do that.
@@WesHampson Ah I couldn't even notice, thank you anyways though!
@@spokk11 no prob good luck!!
Hello Alieypuppy
