    Great presentations but it would be better if when people are showing their tape measure antenna's etc that you let us see what they are showing, you could obviously see it and he was showing it for a reason, all we saw was your blank stare. Really would have been neet to see what others were showing. 73

    I am new to radio and while I study for licensing I have a 20 watt HF rig. I live in western NC, my brother is in east TN. I have built multi band inverted V antennas for both locations. Do I need amplifiers to be able to talk to each other?

      My brother and I both have the Xiegu G90 radios

      no 20 watts is more than enough for that distance. You may be able to use voice but digital formats that let you type back and forth would be easier with that amount of power. Digital can get thru the noise better as well. Try ft8 or other digital formats.
