Mockrát Vám děkuji za upload, Hanibal. Thanks so much for the upload of this talented and remarkable man. As a Brit who has lived out of the country for so long, I am surprised at the sense of immense pride I feel when contemplating the achievements of Chris Bonington, the late Doug Scott, Dougal Haston, Pete Boardman and the rest of the south-west face team of 1975. Chris Bonington and Doug Scott went on to become living legends. Sir Chris at 86 is an extraordinary person, a true national treasure.
My son gave me a copy of Doug's Up and About after he attended a lecture by Doug. I am halfway through reading it and thought I would look Doug up on the Internet today. I am dismayed to learn of his death. RIP
I have now watched videos of Doug on TH-cam that reinforce that Doug was a great man and an inspiration to many people. The film about Doug summiting Everest is particularly good.... th-cam.com/video/XGebNw5eH1E/w-d-xo.html Regards, Mark ..Australia
Same here homie. Discovering this chapter of mountaineering so late, all of these greats are passing. Thank God for documentaries and programs such as this one.
@@jonromefoodmusic You too. These guys were absolute heroes. For me this is not only a connection with my youth, but even today at the age of 86, Chris Bonington is still inspirational.
Thank you so much for this post.Doug was my Geography and PT instructor at Cottesmore School.I went to quite a few schools Cottesmore being the last before work. Doug got a little band of kids together to take climbing it was good adventure and I’m glad to say I was one of them,Doug was the only teacher that showed any interest in me and this helped me through a difficult period in my life.God bless you Scotty.
I had the pleasure of meeting Doug Scott. A remarkable man. RIP
