It REALLY will take some time. Sweep picking takes A LOT of practice and YEARS to master. My advise to you is get a really good electric guitar. Complex techniques, like sweep picking and tapping, cannot be done on a cheap-ass guitar. Believe me, I have tried myself. Also, buy the best gadgets you can find if you really want to get the best sound like Stevie does.
But I'm not saying you buy the most expensive ones. What I'm saying is you'll have a higher rate of success with better equipment. Good luck.
Another advice: If you already know at least the basics of guitar playing, learn scales. Knowledge of the scales is the most important thing for a lead guitarist. Master the basic major and minor scales first, then climb up the ladder.

You're welcome. Well, get started then. If you're really just beginning, I recommend you learn the basic chords and strumming first. I wish you good luck :)

I wonder if Steve has heard of X JAPAN. They're awesome, and while they've only made one anime theme which they're not even known for, they're very popular among fans of Japanese rock and metal music.
MeowTheRainbowX still? I remember they were popukar when I lived there, but that is 3-4 years ago now.
They've been around since 1982, and their albums (all of which were successful) were released between 1987 and 1996. They split up for a while, but they've been working on a comeback album, which could very realistically come out in March of 2017. In the meantime, they've released a documentary film in the U.S. and are starting to show it in other countries. What I'm trying to say is that they are not slowing down in terms of popularity.

You forgot to do the Pokemon Theme, the Yu-gi-oh theme, something from Bleach, and Dragonball Z. Would of loved to hear those. Also, if you do another one, you should do the Megaman theme (Buzy: Be Somewhere). REally think these are worthy for a part 2.
