Season 2 blaine was so much better
Season 2 and early season 3 Blaine are gifts to humanity. Most accurate teenage on the show (the rockstar facade, the obliviousness, the crush on the gap manager, the non-toxic friendships, the fact he has a life outside of glee club, just everything it’s all so fantastic) and then he goes downhill faster than Endgame.
Literally the writers were on CRACK after season 3, especially when writing Blaine’s storylines....
I feel like they just basically took his character and just changed his personality in every single episode so that they could use him as either comedic relief or for the sake of other characters' development, the bolt consistent trait being him being Kurt's boyfriend. He was great in seasons 2&3 and still made some sense in the beginning of 4, but after that it went completely nuts. He had so much potential to be a great character, but the writers basically reduced him to 'the boyfriend' while simultaneously trying to keep him in the middle of everything (still love him tho, I just ignore the last three seasons)
Midnight Sparkle ikr? The whole boyfriend being his dominant trait thing skyrocketed in the later seasons and it got so irritating. He could’ve had a way more subtle, quirky persona going on with a humble, optimistic energy, but he got whatever it is he had in the seasons after season 2. He could’ve had so much depth.

Honestly Blaine was so emotionally unstable, it was relatable and hilarious at the same time. But he was a teenager so it made sense, he was literally a perfect little snowflake when he was first introduced and I feel like it on purpose because it emphasized kurts first crush and how he couldn’t see Blaine past his cool dalton exterior. But as we get to know Blaine we see him as the adorable emotional wreckage he really is... 0 to 10 real quick
In the other seasons he had more character in him, some moments weren't great but then again what teenager is squeaky clean perfect

Personally Blaine is my favourite character. People say that his character change every season but I think when he was with the Warblers: he was the leader, the star and had all the attention. However at the glee club at Mckinley it was Finn. Blaine NEEDS ATTENTION, this why he felt insecure when Kurt was in shape, this is why he cheated (but that was totally OUT OF CHARACTER, at least if went to back to the gay bar and got drunk then cheat, it would have still be TERRIBLE but kinda understanding. He literally planned to cheat on Kurt with someone on Facebook - like WTF) and that's why he wanted to be the "New Rachel".
