She may be delusional but she's sane because she knew killing them even as zombies, was against the law, and she hid it. Not right or wrong, but she knew it was unlawful. Sanity and Insanity are not medical terms, but legal terms. Even in the midst of her delusion, she knew she was breaking the law and took steps to conceal her actions. That is Sane.

If she really thought they are zombies but she has to kill them - let's assume it's true. Then she would just helplessly, with resignation, accept that there will be legal consequences from human system and she just has to take them because it's the better option then letting zombies live. She wouldn't make a statement, she wouldn't have fought, she would do her best to limit how much legal system spends on her. Either logic or no logic. Completely true, a slight comparison would be the 2008(?) case in Canada where a schizophrenic man decapitated someone with a hatchet because he was off of his meds, not well, and thought he was going to die if he didn’t protect himself. That was insanity. He did nothing to hide his actions as he fully believed he was in the right. Lying and hiding your actions makes me believe there’s a deeper level of understanding that takes insanity out of the equation. to be clear, there is a difference between narcissism and Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Someone can be narcissistic - and therefore be called a narcissist - without actually having the disorder.
For example, psychopaths and sociopaths are typically narcissists, negative narcissistic traits are a part of psychopathy. But, ASPD is characterized by a lack of empathy, whereas with NPD, empathy is present.

The fact that she refers to Tammy as “my friend” is so goddamn INFURIATING to me bc it feels like a crude attempt to degrade the victim even in death. I strongly believe she displays some psychopathic traits (shallow affect, complete lack of remorse, total refusal to accept responsibility, etc.), though I’m unsure if she fills the criteria to be classified as one. Regardless, may she decay in her prison cell for the rest of her life 🙏
Edit: Also, the story isn’t quite over yet! Lori still faces extradition to AZ on murder conspiracy charges, & Chad’s trial is set for April 2024! Either way, at least a _portion_ of justice has been served, but there’s still a long way to go.

Christians do this all the time. The Bible over the years has been specifically translated to go with "Christian values". Some parts get completely ignored. Some parts are overly expressed. My favorite ignored parts are when it specifically says people shouldn't preach in the streets and the chapter on abortion. Along with Christians finding it acceptable for their kids to have access to this book with all the incest, murder, sex, and other deplorable things in it.

    • @Zeroshiki

@@ashrielthewitch9934 I've always found it incredibly ironic how Christians in particular seem to hail the bible as something real that actually happened and an example to lead their lives by, but they also ignore the parts that inconvenience them or don't confirm their biases like they don't exist at all. It happens _so much_ within Christianity alone, at least here in America. Every Christian or pastor I've met did the exact same thing.

You and your Editor are a dynamic duo and y'all were on point for this entire video. Someone already pointed this out but I want to repeat it: it's funny how she uses so many scriptures in her speech but she conveniently forgot about the one that says YOU SHALL NOT MURDER. She also forgot about the scripture that says that children are a gift from God to be nurtured. This is only a glimpse of what her children had to deal with every day before she murdered them and it's utterly heartbreaking to think about. They had to be so confused and scared. She's definitely deluded but Lori Vallow knew exactly what she was doing when she committed her crimes. She feels that what she believes is absolutely right so she can do whatever she wants because the only judgement she cares about is divine judgement. In my opinion, she wasn't trying to justify her actions when she spoke. She was using her moment in the spotlight to preach in an effort to convert people to her line of thinking while also trying to get sympathy by mentioning the children she killed. It's twisted behavior. It's stomach churning behavior. I wish she had gotten the death penalty instead of life without parole.

From all the evidence and following this case for years when the kids first were reported missing, it is abundantly clear Lori is an entirely equal party in all of this. It seems as though they fed off each others delusions and created deeper and deeper lore to go with their cult in the making. She is a truly disturbed woman. And what gets me the most about this case, Tylee was off to college and almost away, JJ easily could have gone to his grandparents or perhaps even Colby had they known the other option, there was no reason at all she should feel she the need to fully remove these children from the world in order to go off and live her batshit crazy life with Chad, he could have easily left Tammy, their kids weren't toddlers and could have dealt with the reality of them divorcing. The whole thing is just so insane.

I think Lori had chad just as much under her own spell. She just stepped into her fully fledged goddess complex when chad came along and encouraged it. They're both willfully delusional to avoid taking any accountability, even to themselves. The blasphemy was jaw dropping.

I feel like Lori had everyone under her own narcissistic spell and then her and Chad met and her narcissism and his weird ass stories were literally the building blocks of 'how to start a cult' and then they both just mutually went down the rabbit hole trying to get money, manipulate people, and do whatever suited their selfish needs, much like every cult leader

When I watched it live I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. How is she not mentally unwell? She should genuinely be in a secure unit somewhere. I know insanity is overused as a plea but this woman had so many positive reviews from friends and family before she lost her damn mind and did heinous things. She’s a vile monster don’t get me wrong, but she’s certainly off her rocker… that statement and her demeanour. It’s INSANITY.

Tbh she really didn’t- one of the ex-Mormon podcasts featured a cousin of hers who roomed with her in college. Long history of manipulation and mom enabling her. Documented history of her coaching daughter to lie to police, too, during divorce with one of her ex husbands. Cousin on podcast also explained the social pressure to never speak ill of family & friends publicly.. I’m thinking that’s why we hear these glowing reviews of her as a mom when the history tells a totally different story. 😐

I think she chooses her delusion rather than it being something she's afflicted with. Gives her a shield against accountability and guilt

@@whims6278 You think so? Maybe you’re right. I definitely think she can’t allow herself to truly think about the gravity of her actions and the fact that her children are dead and gone forever rather than the delusions she came up with about them being in a better place truly. But she needs to snap out of it and face the music.

shes not mentally stable but that doesnt mean she's insane. Insanity means Free of Reason--she had reasons even if they were delusional and horrible. Personally I think 3 separate life sentences for her is fitting

I can't see her cooperating with any mental health doctors even if any such help is available. She doesn't want to know the truth since that would mean acknowledging she murdered her own children.

13:38 sometimes i wonder if occasionally lawyers get a client and, after realizing that no degree of effort will stop their client from making the situation as bad as possible, just kind of take it as a paid vacation, yk? "hi judge, my client didn't do anything wrong because god said it was okay"
    "thats ur argument?"
"*long sigh* yeah. they wouldn't agree to anything else."
    "Okay then"

As someone who is LDS, Utah is WEIRD. No wonder there are some people who think the church is a cult. To the people who were traumatized by it, my heart goes out to you, you don’t deserve that treatment. The good thing is that only 20% of the church is in the United States, and from my experiences traveling, everyone else is normal and very down to earth. The Utah LDS people need serious help lol

Im just gonna say it. Lori Vallow sounds like Helga Pataki's alcoholic, neglectful ma from Hey Arnold and i think that's kinda fitting considering how- out of it the real woman is cuz the fictional one is just as bizarre. I hope the worst for Vallow bc she has done vile things and will probably never let herself acknowledge it
