Hey Gang 👋 Heather you better stop losing weight, I may take the wedding ring back 😂❤👄,God's Good Blessings to you and your beautiful family keep up the great work love U guys XOXOXO
Try drawing out your cuts on a piece of paper to see if your markings are correct on your beam. Then know that you probably are going to cut the beams upside down and turn them up the other way to put them in place.😅
Heather I have a suggestion......make yourself a miniature model of 2 "beams" out of scrap wood. So every time you need to make that cut again you don't have to "visualize" in your head and slow you down. Just pull out your Lincoln log model and viola there's the pattern of cuts you need to make!!😊
Before you know it, you'll be all done. Just think how wonderful it will be to have the shop/barn to work in. Little by little its all coming together. Too bad you got rained out. the sun will shine again and then you'll be back at it fresh and ready to start. take care
Bummer the rain stopped the progress. Was looking so good. The framing looks so much stronger now that the diagonal bracing is in place at the corner posts. (Thank you Randy). Since the joints are all the same, maybe make a jig out of 1/2" plywood. Lay it on the beam and trace out the cut lines? Bing-Bam-Boom!! Thanks for sharing
I just found your channel and it's fun. I've been watching homestead you tube channels for about 6/7 years. Thank you for being friendly and funny. U'll watch out for your video always.
Those chainsaw skilsaws are awesome tools but they are finicky. I try to only remove screws on a table or platform with a lip around the edge so i do my best not to drop stuff and lose it forever
Black and brown is a very sophistic color combo :) The brown boots are fine with the black outfit ! The build is going so well - I know you're both excited!
I have so much respect for you. Love you, I think of, and pray for you daily. I was really hoping to see community and family come together to get your barn up, I was hoping for an old fashioned barn raising for you. Much love my friends.
Heather dont second guess yourself. Make the cuts shorter than you need because you can always cut more off. You cannot add more without lots of work on the mill
Having the right tools do make things easier but you use what you got. What kind of saw is that looks like a skill/chainsaw? Pretty cool. Great job Heather that alot of figuring out. ❤❤❤
It's the worm drive skillsaw and I bought the chainsaw attachment for it. It is cool when it works. I made some bad cuts you will see in the next video and I am super bummed
The impact is not a drill but it was made so that the head on the bit does not try to turn in the head of the screw. The drill was made for drill bits doesn't work well for screws.
you have enough space on your piling. to scab a couple boards along the post so as the beam that is off the post as a resting point. that can be the place you go and reflect when you do something wrong.
ya impact drills are good but I have used just reg drills for many years without issue so ya I am not big on the noise also when I told my brother I got an impact drill he said it was about time
Heather Once you make a cut either write it down or make a jig or a pattern. I hate seeing you racking your brain on each one. It probably is simple But you probably like me and overthink things 😊 It's great that your grandson enjoys hanging out with you.
What is so hard to measure centre of the posts then cut the beam to that length. I wasn't trying to critize you in the video when you had all the help but I wondered why you two were spending all your time talking to everyone and not watching what Randy was doing. That was your chance to learn. I still like to watch. Wish I could help you when I see you are struggling but hard to do from were I'm at .Measure a beam accurately cut it and put up. That is the only way to learn. You most likely will learn if you made a mistake. Good luck.
I know when I go to other builds to help and I am not given the opportunity to work I get annoyed so I was making space for these guys to help and I was watching Randy and Kimmie was video taping so you could watch too.
That's the barn that love, and dedication, and framily built🎉❤🎉❤
Yes it is!!
You had a great little helper today
I think so too

Everything looks nice, straight, plum and level. Good Job. You should get your picture in better barns and gardens.
Hahahahahahah
Good Job Ladies!! Have a Great Evening!! 🌻🙋♀️🌹
Thank you! You too!
Hooray... perfect timing. Coffee break time because rain has started here
Before you know it, you'll be all done. Just think how wonderful it will be to have the shop/barn to work in. Little by little its all coming together. Too bad you got rained out. the sun will shine again and then you'll be back at it fresh and ready to start. take care
It will be so cool to drive up the driveway and see it all done!!
I always use a regular drill and not an impact. I guess personal preference.
Love your videos and enjoy watching. May the lord bless and protect you and Kimmie working on post and beam barn
Thank you so much!
Heather definitely has secrets
I agree with you, on the impact drill. It does the job especially when your up high.

A jig would definitely work. I wish I would have done that before I started cutting up the beams...grrr. what a mess. You will see in the next video
Nice explanation of work progress!
Thank you
Hi! We think Randy made that piece as a makeshift sawhorse. 😊
Ok that's what I thought too! Thank you
Hiya my pretties your doing amazing work
Thank you so much 🤗
Hopes y'all are getting rest and feeling better..
No it is worse... dang it I don't want to be sick.
I just found your channel and it's fun.

Welcome to the homestead!! Thank you for watching

God bless you both and your families. J
You ladies are doing so well!!! Hang in there…. It’s looking great!!!
Thank you for always cheering us on!!
I've said it once, well a million times, and I will continue to proclaimed it. Heather and Kimmie are great inspirations to me and so many others❤
Thank you so much
You are doing so well. Thanks for another great video!! 😊

You’re awesome
Great music!
10 seconds is a loonnngggg time for a young man😂
Yes it is..he did so good though
Black and brown is a very sophistic color combo :) The brown boots are fine with the black outfit ! The build is going so well - I know you're both excited!
The weather rained us out, too. You guys are really doing great. ❤️
We need this rain but dang it! Lol. Looks like back in the 60s this week though
I have so much respect for you.
Love you, I think of, and pray for you daily.
I was really hoping to see community and family come together to get your barn up,
I was hoping for an old fashioned barn raising for you.
Much love my friends.
That would be fun but they are trying to finish up their projects too

Victor puts his "tractor down the hill for safety" makes me wonder what you have been doing while not filming 😮!!!!!
I will never tell
❤❤

Hi Ladies
Hello
you have enough space on your piling. to scab a couple boards along the post so as the beam that is off the post as a resting point. that can be the place you go and reflect when you do something wrong.
Hilarious 😂
❤😊🙏
I am thinking it’s time to bring out the rain gear! However, it’s looking good for awhile so keep up the work, it’s looking great.
This is our rain month here. To bad it co.es with the wind or I could set up a cover!!!
Mario and Luigi have nothing on you two when it comes to plumbing
Hahahaha
Funny "ha ha" or funny "scary"
ya impact drills are good but I have used just reg drills for many years without issue so ya I am not big on the noise also when I told my brother I got an impact drill he said it was about time
Dont depend on the measurements inside the square. Done that before and have had to buy new lumber
Good tip
Was it a step?
It was to the beam so it could be cut
Heather
Once you make a cut either write it down or make a jig or a pattern.
I hate seeing you racking your brain on each one.
It probably is simple
But you probably like me and overthink things 😊
It's great that your grandson enjoys hanging out with you.
I overthink all the time!!! Lol
OK what doing is cutting L on the ends of beams so overlap each other to make the building stronger
Yes
I have said this before there areno pipes in the barn so you are not plumbing 🫣
What is so hard to measure centre of the posts then cut the beam to that length. I wasn't trying to critize you in the video when you had all the help but I wondered why you two were spending all your time talking to everyone and not watching what Randy was doing. WHAT? IMPACT DRILLS ARE LOUD? SPEAK UP!
LOLOL
Habahahaha
