I grill my catfish with blackened seasoning and serve it with a salsa cruda or mango salsa. The taste and texture turn out much better over the hot coals.

I have never eaten a striper that wasn't awful. Maybe it's just me and my entire family and my friends that just can't eat them. I love your water level updates and I've lived in Vegas my whole life since '65. Back in 1977 my father caught what would have been the lake record silver salmon trolling through the narrows that buried his 9 pound hanging scale. My dad said this fish could be the record and went to both callville and lake mead marina by boat but the ranger stations were closed at both and he wasn't able to get an official weigh and measure. My mom said do you want to drive it to temple bar to see if they can do it. My father being frustrated said look at the fish, it's probably lost a half pound of blood by now. ( the large triple treble hook rapela was hooked in his mouth and one side of his gills.) So he said no they are probably closed as well let's just go home . Turned out it would have been the lake record , and even worse, a record that could never be broken since there are no longer silver salmons in lake mead and nobody has even caught one after the 70's. Since you guys take your fishing very seriously you might be interested that he caught it trolling fast with leaded line 80' deep
Heyy new subscribe i been watching most of your fishing videos i still need to watch a lot more 😊which is exciting is like watching episodes to me lol and i like the way you cook them right there on the spot. I dont really cook but this looks good😋 ! So i been going out to fish and geting some of your tips you mention in your videos . I like going just that i dont know what im doing wrong . My rods for some reason they get tangled to fast with one hard long cast it would tangle the whole rod . Is there any ways u can help me with what im doing wrong. I got this fishing rods used from offer up and i been using them dark big warms from walmart i forgot the name for them lol . Well sorry for the long post but that u for taking your time on reading it and u guys are awsome! ❤ KEEP UP THE HARD WORK !!👍
Not sure if anyone has posted this but soaking catfish in buttermilk overnight tends to pull much of the fishy tasting oils out of it, then rinse thoroughly before cooking. It's really good after that however you decide to fix it.

When you do the rattlesnake catch and cook make sure you know what species of rattlesnake it is so you don't get in trouble for bagging a protected species.
The small fish took over and made it hard for fish to get big. They dropped the size limit to deal with the issue. You can take as many fish as you want under 20 inches.... I’ve never caught a fish over 4 pounds in this lake out of thousands of fish I’ve caught

Bleed your catfish and it won't taste fishy, nor have that slimy taste. Catfish meat is softer in the summer. River catfish taste much better.
