Did you play in the qualifier? DID YOU GET TO OPEN ANY BOMBS?
My packs were worse than yours, I didn't even want to play it was so depressing.
I won a mull to four with a plotted Dust Animus in this, so that was cool.
I got bony Paul, fblthp and stoic sphinx and made day 2 =)
i went 7-1 in the play-in a 1-3 in day 1. Sealed is just so luck dependent.
I got some good bombs, but not enough creatures to build any two colour deck, hardly any removal, and no fixing for more colours. Put together a durdly jund deck. Went 0-3.
ME: [sees title]
KENJI: "These packs are atrocious, I'm going to expire irl from acute rare and mythic deficiency."
ME: [Checks runtime]
Oh, we're gonna *learn* things today.
This man is climbing Everest in swim-trunks!
I’m so glad you beat that guy Bongripzzz. Whole match guy had a sick deck and trash talk emotes “nice” and “good game” when he thought the large hydra would win, and got crushed.
For that last game, I was hoping you would bring the Fell The Mighty tech again, since oppo had freaking Brawler AND Bonnie Pal (lucky sealed pool, huh?). Imagine casting that on a 3/4 power creature on your side and wiping their board cuz everything was 5+ power, lol
Really impressed with how well you did with this deck, respect.
your sealed draws have been brutal (fuck sealed) but they've been a testament to absolutely maximizing the card pool and proper play and sequencing. great work as always.
What a grind...way to use every part of the buffalo.
Almost 3 hours long sealed, gotta be a banger
2x speed gang, rise up!
When Numot puts his arm over his head you know it's an interesting game.
The savage smash on the Beaver smh lmfao BRUUUUUUTAL
That was one of the pools of all time.
Completely bombless 4 color meh soup. And you crushed with it. Just a master class in eeking out value 👏🏼
When life gives you lemons and you make an aeroplane 👀
Nummy, I really enjoy your videos, especially the events. you help me alot with my depression. I learn alot from you, past 2 drafts I got 7 wins from using what I learnt here from the past 4 years or so. thank you
This was a master class in squeezing every last bit of lemonade value from a lemon pool, well done
Truly remarkable play it was. The bad pool highlights your play skill, Kenji.
7-2 over here with Green White 4 power creaters and x2 Outcaster Trailblazers. Great draft format, but feels like a terrible sealed format with all the variance in pools.
THIS is why I watch Nummy - some masterful play here - nice games!
aww. I still woulda attacked all to see if they'd go to 1 to then play the bop land. They would likely would have blocked, but ya never know. Great Games!
Exactly what I was thinking. It was a stretch, but still possible.
"Classic" for that opening hand got me good lol
The redirection spell on the white indestructible trick at 1:14:00 is SO satisfying.
This plus the one mana green hexproof thing is SO annoying in this format.
Dude I just saw an MH3 ad with you in it on this video! Incredible
I went 4 and 3 today, got railway brawled for the knockout with humiliate on the splash to take my path of exile. looking forward to watching your run
You know, for red being one of if not the weakest color this set, you showcased a great array of their spells and used them beautifully.
Daang interesting~ Sealed is crazy lol
Props on piloting this pile to so many victories and beating decks that were a hell of a lot more stacked than yours. Also loved the off meta inclusion of return the favor. Lead to some insane turns.
1:17:45 you were literally 1 point off winning you could have targeted him with the draw a card, he loses a life and give your creature menace, he can't block and you deal another 5...damn..that was an epic game.
Muscle gets indestructible not menace, oppo could still block
Absolutely inspired play. Hats off, Kenji!
Amazing content. So much fun. Great job with an underwhelming pool. Thank you for the wonderful entertainment day in and day out. I truly appreciate it.
What a pleasure watching you play! Great job, Kenji.
When the rhino gets plotted and you have removal in hand, you can't afford to let oppo have a turn with it. I made that mistake twice 😅
That's some return the favor action, huh? oof 1:13:55
GG, I was shadow dragon game 2 I think, sadly that match was one of the only that went well for me, had 2 ornery but still went 4-3
Love playing against a sealed pool with the 2 absolute best rare/mythics in the format in the same deck. At least you took a game off em.
This was impressive. Well made deck. Just hell of a grind.
Num is doing work with these cards, my god
I haven't watched the whole video yet (and I know going into it you did well) but I do think playing fell the mighty main alongside insatiable avarice was correct. Neither card is great, but they're at least impactful cards capable of getting 3 for 1's (or more). So rather than siding it in, I would main it and side it out when it's bad.
It's even a combo with overzealous muscle assuming you target one of the opponent's creatures, right? I wonder if that comes up later...
I do have one quesion? Why play the land and stuff second main?
So that you have open mana and that your opponent thinks you might have a trick. Plus, depending if they trade or not, might change what you want to play.
Railway brawler is about the most absurd card I've ever seen played with! If you don't have removal for it, it's unfair!
Better than Bonny?
2:37:50 For what it's worth: you can't change the target of Throw from the Saddle because Return the Favor specifies a spell or ability with *one* target, and Throw has two. However, you could have copied the Throw and had your copy punch their Mobile Homestead so their Throw didn't do any damage. This was a great run, so sorry for the result!
@@OneEyed_Jack It does. "Change the target of target spell or ability with a single target." The main point about copying instead to cause the original spell to fizzle is exactly what I was thinking, too.
@@esaron88 Mia culpa. I just kept reading the first mode. 🤦♂️
Love these Qualifiers and high stake events, take my 3 hours of watch time for the algo!
Good job with the title, frankly if not for it, I would close the vid right after the salty negative (and correct) assesment of the pool. Anyways, thanks for the content! Well done with the run and as always amazing explenation of decision that I do believe help many folks.
That was a fun ride to watch for sure.
WHAT A JOURNEY OF JOY AND SORROW LOL
Go Numot! Best of luck. Have fun.
2:22:22 Magic The Puzzling!
Was esper not playable with this pool? ub splashing white for detention, rend, felidar etc?
Bandit’s Haul as the only untapped green source might have a bit ambitious a few times there
What I would give for more videos like this.
every match was the same thing: 'he can't keep getting away with this'
44:50 You went Wolverine into Kraum to "get value from the wolverine" but you miss out on getting value with Kraum, so I don't think that makes any sense. The net result is a worse board, you would have drawn the land either way. I guess you could draw a different card to play that turn, but getting a 3/4 flier into play seems really nice on board and it's going to be the same amount of value in most instances, and less value in instances where you flip something you can't play, so I'm pretty sure it's considerably worse than just doing the other order.
Blood Hustler every turn is insane.lol
Kraum and Quilled charger need an apology or thank you dinner, heh.
The title of this video and this format should be: “Better Lucky than Good”
You know you are playing OTJ sealed when 2x Bonnie Pall is the winnable game.
Never seen Kenji this nervous playing a deck SO bad.
I have only ever played sealed in prerelease events and out of all the tournaments I have ever played in over the course of 20 something years, there was only one that the sealed deck construction was easy. Placed 3rd and would have advanced to the next round but passed when I should have attacked. Just put in all the white and black cards and a mana rock. Orzhov creatures and bam. Easy peasy. Just once in 20 something years. Sucks.
ggs, turns out hoping your opponents brick is kinda fine in sealed
I would have been trying to use Fell the Mighty so much more. At least thats what my noob intuition is. Especially against the railway brawler.
In that last game, if you had waited on the return the favor instead of the charger, you wouldn't have had a chance to win drawing the smash, the board would've been stalled and you'd have more life at the turn bonnie gets to the board. You had to win before she got played anyways.
Great play with a mediocre pool.
Sterling hound is underrated. Just because any deck can play it doesnt mean it's bad
Wow, this is an EVENT!! Only 2/3 the way through right now but holy shit
How does he make his Full Control stay on? Mine turns itself off on its own every stop and gives away when I have nothing constantly
ctrl+shift
@@NumotTheNummyYT Thanks boss. Wish I woulda known this day 2 of the arena open!
I was 6-2 into the final boss with a shit pool! NO REMOVAL! JUST VALUE PLAYS! Somehow won the 2nd game into the final game of the final boss but OPs deck was 10x better than mine. Full of Bombs and Good Removal and fixing. Maybe on the play i coulda pulled it out but I did wonders with what I had. Congrats to My Opponent Sperling
How many tries do you have per day?
just one try for the qualifiers
I appreciate 8 "David VS Goliath" matches as much as the next guy, but every time OPs dropped bombs against this pitiful deck, I got freaking LIVID!
I played the key to the vault several times and it wasnt too bad tbh.
Jeez, almost 3 hours?
I know I'm feeling spoiled 🎉🎉🎉
You could have used the second mode on Return the Favor to put a copy on the stack of one of your creatures punching the Homestead, so it wouldn't be around to resolve original Throw. But you'd only have 2 2/3s on board, so they'd probably not play removal, and even if they did, they would have to be extremely aggressive to give you an opening against their larger board before Bonny came down and sealed it.
Holding up Return was probably the better play in case there was removal that _could_ be redirected at the Brawler, but it's unlikely it would have mattered in the long run. A bit of a soft punt, since Charger isn't relevant to the board if Brawler sticks.
Valiant run!
Sometimes your opponent simply does nothing. We'll take it xD
This format is easy in draft now. Just draft green plus removal and win
How now Brown Cow? lolol
This pool is mediocre but not that bad. At least it has decent removal. We've all seen pools with no bombs and literally no removal
Casual sealed is fun competitive is so draining when you whiff on pulls....
Blood Hustler was the mvp
bonus sheets have ruin limited in general makes it pretty boring these days
Kola Frier Day 1!
...that's what she said...
gg's dude; deck looked like it hurt to drive but damn was it fun watching you drive a rally car in a formula one qualifier.
Go first - win. Go second - lose. That is draft in a nutshell and evidenced pretty well here.
It really sucks when you save up to play and then get something like this. But that's part of the game. Just sucks.
Literal like 1.5/10 pool compared to sample I saw from arena opens. Yikes. I will say, though, I watched a lot of streams and played 8 matches for this event and, maybe it's the conspiracy theorist in me, but I didn't see many good pools. Kinda weird. Anyway, this pool has definitely gotta be one of the worst. Sorry Nummy 😢
Great sideboarding decisions. Showing these arena zoomers how to play Bo3
All for not
*naught
Hahahaha I don’t know why you bother.
Even if you do win the prizes are crap and you can’t say it was skill. 🤷♂️😂
I refuse to play sealed. If wizards are too lazy to give me a competitive format then I’m too lazy to spend my money on their crap. 😂🤦♂️
Could’ve had lethal if you didn’t greedily plot your 4/3 instead of playing it for pressure. Idk why you keep doing that tbh. So much damage and tempo missed just for the possibility of an extra 2/2 3 turns later.
sorry, I stopped watching when you didn't add salvo at the 43:56, wtf, shock with potential to be lightning bolt or even more is better than half of the deck and even with 2 damage it alone kills EVERYTHING in the opponent deck that was killing you last round!
you even said it when it was just one mana dork and then opponent played another one mana dork and I don't know another 3 or 4 deadly creatures with 2 hit points!
I was screaming at the screen :(
