By the way as a new player I played 2-3 battle every single day for 2 weeks(sometimes more) I still barely into BR II, as allies my SMG squad still have only one full star grease M3, My LMG squad still 1star with Vickers I don't play Air or Armor so idk how many silver you need for those but it's a grind... I can't even imagine how many silver is to enlist an Engineer lll or Assaulter lll but the ll-s cost 7.5k+ equipement is just too much. I can get behind the Ex grind for unlocks but to have 50 battle just so you can max out a squad of 5 a little bit too much.

The more you play the more equipment and geared soldiers you will have in your active squads making it much easier to get kills and kills equal silver. Also look out for event squads, as a new player they can help skip the grind for entire factions.
I started out just like you a year ago playing allies. Now I'm almost completely done with the allied tech tree except for planes, and this was all free to play, premium would have sped this up significantly.
I have an entire line up of high BR squads on both Russia and Germany all from just event squads, almost nothing in the tech trees unlocked

2:20 One problem with your advice to new players... you can't really "skip" anything anymore. If you unlock higher-tier things it won't allow you to buy them until you unlock ALL previous elements in the research line. I came up against that when the "new" Enlisted merge occurred.

You forgot to archiv the archievements (11 of 29)...they give you extra silver
