We were in the studio brainstorming and Odatha Da Odatha Da was one of the most difficult song that I wrote. The brief was so simple but crafting it and writing was such a hard crafting job. Album packs a punch for sure. ARR's versatility on full display. Not of the same soulful, elaborated and melodious qualities as Goat Life, Maidaan and Chamkilla, but this album features ARR composing in a way he does less often, very local urban and modern edgy. We did see some of this in Maamannan and Lal Salaam, but this album takes it up a notch, especially in tracks Rumble and Odatha. Insane stuff! Oh Raaya is my favorite of the lot, very hypnotic and based on raaga Megh.

I started to listen Tamil songs only after Roja.. prior to that, whenever we play illayaraja Tamil songs in our school functions will turn out to be an embarrassing moment, the foreigner students and teachers will start laughing at me and my other tamil friends. Can you imagine it? We always became a laughing stock till 1992 .. the only Musician from India changed our lives overseas and kept upgrading his music quality up to international standards till now is only ARR.. yes agree his style has changed from 1990s.. but it's an evolution following the latest highest quality of international music. @@monkysonky you born in 1981 in India? I am born and brought up in overseas listening to non Indian songs till 1992.. I started to listen Tamil songs only after Roja.. prior to that, whenever we play illayaraja Tamil songs in our school functions will turn out to be an embarrassing moment, the foreigner students and teachers will start laughing at me and my other tamil friends. Can you imagine it? We always became a laughing stock till 1992 .. the only Musician from India changed our lives overseas and kept upgrading his music quality up to international standards till now is only ARR.. yes agree his style has changed from 1990s.. but it's an evolution following the latest highest quality of international music. He needs to grow, can't get stuck in his 90's fame.. I understand your feelings, you Indians like to buy a tumbler which will last for 50 years..
