Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
    -Philippians 4:6-7

I get Bible verses sent to me every day in my email from "My Daily Bible" and I was surprised to read the third email that I had and the Bible verse was exactly what you posted or at least Philippians 4:6. God is amazing. Thanks for everything Evan and if I spelled your name wrong I do apologize.

I live in Canada and I know a lot of Filipinos. They are super nice. Super friendly. They are also super driven. They'll work 10 jobs in order to succeed. To quickly buy their first house etc. The Filipinos I'm talking about are those who moved here. Could it be because they struggled their and came him to the land of opportunity? They would get paid and send their money back home to support their children. Two Filipinos I became friendly with left their husbands and children behind. It took years before they were able to come here. I know they unselfishly did this for a better way of life, but imagine not being with your kids for years.

Thank you for a great video. I must say that I have one problem with Filipino hospitality and it's really my own fault. I weigh between 140 & 150 kilos (those who are unfamiliar with the metric system, just multiply those numbers by 2.2 lbs). Everywhere I go to visit, food is offered and I don't want to offend by not accepting the offer. The Philippines is not a good place to be on a diet!🤪 So learn to control eating when you're on your own - good luck. Filipino food is so delicious. As Filipinos say, "Masarap!" Filipinos are very helpful people - don't talk politics; too upsetting and besides Filipinos are not interested in American politics. And don't talk about Philippines politics - you may find you are being shown the door to leave. Thanks again for a great video.

A very accurate portrayal, which pretty much mirrors my life here in the Philippines. Apart from the very laid-back way of life, I enjoy not having to worry about cash as my family and I own all our property and receive an income, have no debts and are very comfortable. We also live at a relatively high altitude so while it is warm it is not unbearably hot or stiflingly humid.

Filipino people are the warmest of people. A family friend of mine - his wife is Filapina. Their family used to host amazing annual barbecues. All were welcome in their house, you were treated as family. Come in, sit down, literally act like you would at home. Come sing karaoke, come play Mahjong, just relax. And I can’t forget the FOOD. There would be TONS of it, both Filipino dishes, as well as your typical American bbq fare. Leftovers were without question something you would be taking home. Good times.
Another family friend who’s Filipino once invited my entire family to their house for dinner. It was like we were long lost fam. Dinner, talking, cozy time. Got started chatting about Korean dramas, and was invited for future afternoons together to watch dramas and eat Korean food. Yeah Filipinos are the best ❤️

In the Philippines and in Europe, they do not rush you at restaurants because the staff is paid a fixed wage and does not have to rely on tips to make a living. In the U.S., the restaurant staff is paid below the minimum hourly rate and so they are forced to turn as many tables as possible in order to have more tips and earn a decent wage. Yes, one of the wealthiest countries in the world could not afford to pay their restaurant workers a decent wage. It makes me question if the U.S. is really wealthy. Another important question is, do you really trust the quality of the food served by underpaid and grumpy workers? They are only working there because they haven't found a better-paying job and probably do not care what is in the food they are serving. Yuck!

When we took a cruise our cabin steward and waiters were Filipinos.
If you are in the Philippines you will be a friend of all your friend's friends.
I enjoy the islands of paradise. The Filipino people are very kind and generous. I love socialization in The Philippines. I also love the slow pace in the islands. I dislike the long lines in paying bills and getting something at a department. I ince went into a fish store. I wanted a few guppies. I got the reply " not un stock sir". I looked around and found a few tanks with fancy guppies. I asked the clerk what was in the tank. I got the reply" guppies sir".
I am not sure why but l walked out with sox guppies and a spinning head.

Thank you for this important video, brother savvy. I'm a male over 60 years old. I'll be going to the Philippines very soon. At my age, as a single expat, I am always seeking tranquility and peace, because I like to walk with God alone in nature. I'm the kind of guy who likes to take long walks on the sandy beach, or take a snooze under a coconut tree.

Evan, living in a slow barangay, as i do, is extremely peaceful, albeit, boring to the nth level. I blame this on 1 thing.....I don't have a vehicle. To explore this country and everything that it has to offer, one MUST have a set of wheels. Buses and vans will only get you so far. Renting a car can be a big plus, but a bit expensive, so I only rent once a month after making plans where to visit.
Being a single foreigner on a tourist visa, banks do not allow me to open a bank acct, so I need to save save save in order to buy a vehicle, in whole, with cash. It's a real pain

@thesavyexpat the issue with politics is when you vote for someone that NEGATIVELY effects my life then YOU are the problem. That is NOT "one family" behavior, one family CARES how EVERYONE is effected by their decisions. So of course people get upset. Also the restaurant issue is for a few reasons. One is that in the US waiters rely on tips. If you hold a table up for hours then you are costing them money. They aren't there to watch you chat. They're there to make money. Another reason is things like reservations. people want the table they reserved at the time they reserved it... That's the whole point of a reservation. if it's a busy place and you sit there for 2 hours chatting it's disrespectful to the owner also who is losing customers because they don't want to wait. Losing customers also means the cooks and everyone in the back gets paid less. so because of those things a busy restaurant in not a place to hangout. It's rude to the owners, the staff and the other customers. if you want to hangout you book a private room or table that has a time slot. if they don't offer that and it's a busy place then you eat and leave. hangout and chat at the park or on a walk instead. otherwise it's like chatting at the checkout counter holding up the line. RUDE
