Videos like this are way more useful to me than regular tutorials, seeing you actively make decisions on how you want your garment to come out helps me know what to do when I'm in a similar situation!

I made this top while watching using the sewing method, without darts (small chest + athletic build so they were not needed). I ended up sewing on mismatched buttons in brown and black colors up the one side because I did not have a free zipper or stuff for rivets. It is so cute with buttons- I highly recommend!

These pieces are fantastic!! I love how you did the no-sew version as well. I truly love your work and how you encourage others to be as unique as they feel and letting them know it's okay to step out of their comfort zone or take their comfort a bit higher. Idea for the no sew version darts: mark them to fit (excess on the inside) and then use iron on adhesive (hem tape/"heat bond") to set permanently.

If one had a zipper repair set, shortening the zippers would be super easy, no need to worry about extra stitching to prevent the slide pull from coming off. Heck, you could even buy your zipper on a roll and customize the lengths for what ever you make.

A neighbor was planning to throw away a pair of jeans. Glad I talked him into letting me use them instead. I have a bunch of ideas to personalize a top after watching you. I want to make two, similar but different. Just made my weekend busy.

A absolutely loved your tutorial ❤
At first I thought by viewing the thumbnail that somehow you made a pair of jeans into a mindless with the front overlapped to make it appear to look like a corset over a mini skirt....(thumbnail didn't show your bottom half so I couldn't tell if you were wearing a jean skirt or a pair of pants which would be cool also.
I love watching people transform, alter, upcycle, recycle, etc etc making something old into something new.

    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your channel.
I love to design. I wanted to b a fashion designer. Never happened. I got married. I suffered severe abuse. Much more. Pretty much have a lifetime movie x a billion life.
I have cptsd and was abandoned in a state I don't know.
I want to make everything. But cptsd and depression stops me in my tracks. Also breast cancer.
I want to make an upcycled sweater or jean coat.
I would love to add embellishments of grommets to a sweatshirt like 1" and smaller different sizes. There was a sweatshirt like that for 199$ I think.
Also embellish the heck out of a jean jacket. With studs round smooth ones. I want to add things to a lot of Jean jackets.
And wanted to put zippers on different clothing items random places. Like sweatshirt at the bottom put the top of the jean on places with the belt loop use it to finish a sleeve do bell sleeves.
There's a lady I love her work on etsy.
And I started making upcycled sweater arm warmers and scarves. There's endless options. Working with a serger is difficult but dumb me was using it on the bed.
I want so badly to start making things. I do crochet also. Adding crochet in between items or really anywhere. But I end up drawing it out. And never make anything. I stay in fight flight and Frozen mode my therapist says. But I gotta make stuff before I die. I have too. I just have to.
    I missed so many years.
First would b studded jean jacket then grommet sweatshirt
    Then upcycled sweaters.
    How do I send pictures.
I rarely get out. I have a peer supporter. Sorry so much information. But you are a God send. Ty u. God bless you. 💕

What kind of thread do you use when sewing heavier materials, like denim. I like the idea of this because I could wear a strapless bra to help support the girls and denim is a strong material and if done correct is a good supportive fabric that might allow us with larger chest go braless. @Monroesteel has a cargo mini high/low skirt she just did a video on and my comment was that I was going to bring it to DIYer to make a more affordable/wearable option on it. I thrifted a pair of men cargo shorts (not sure if I got it big enough) for this project. I need to find your video on making pants into skirt first. I will be hand sewing this for right now. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come

    • @BlueprintDIY

Seems to me that the only top you haven't still made is an actual corset. But I think you are pretty much ready for it.
    Just throwing an idea here.

Am I weird for trying on my adjustments 2 times? Once right side out, then again inside out so that I can make markings and pinning on the inside of fabric?

What is that foot in your machine? Doing a what is this foot on one of my groups and that what be interesting to show.

It's the walking foot for the Sailrite. It comes in two seperate pieces with two outer foot pieces and one inside piece. When sewing a zipper you can buy a piece that just goes on one side so you can see close to the zipper.
