- As Erin Burnett appeared on CNN Monday night, one question kept many viewers distracted from the news. What happened to her eye? Her right eye looked swollen during the broadcast. She tried to mask the problem by looking down and turning to an extreme profile where viewers could barely see that side of her face. Despite those efforts, people noticed. “Can't someone step in for you so you can heal?” asked one concerned viewer. #InsideEdition
I hate the fact she felt the need to apologise sad, we the people totally understand.
Of course she had to apologize. Instead of take a sick leave and get better she is showing the carnage on her face to the all world. Btw you did a typo there.

I was thinking she probably jad a bad allergic reaction to something that progressed from "just cold symptoms" to facial swelling. It happened to one of my friends two years ago, except most of her face swelled & her eyes were almost shut. She was back to normal in two days though.
It's possible that she meant she had an eye cold as well. An eye cold is basically a nice way to describe conjunctivitis, which obviously causing redness and swelling. It's not uncommon to catch it when you have a cold due to viral strain!
I think it's Botox that seeped into her Levator muscle. It's a rare side effect of Botox but it does happen. It only tends to affect one eye and can last a few weeks. It's not permanent, thank goodness.

I have cold, flu, allergies all the time and trust me, my eyes get affected one eye at the time and by the time I start recovering I have a very dark horizontal line on my nose as if I was recovering from an injury. I understand and believe her.

That’s a bad Botox, the Botox probably got injected too close to the left eyebrow muscle and relaxing that muscle, the eyebrow started to dripping down. She often said it was a bad cold, as Botox is always a big taboo and very personal, but by studying medicine before cosmetic injections, there’s not way that “a bad cold” or an infection would make 1 eyebrow dripping down, plus her voice wasn’t stuffed and completely normal

I burned the inside of my eye once (with the hot curlers) - I know I know. That eye was bandaged for weeks. My fiancé and I went to a restaurant that we had been going to for over year where there was always the same table always the same waitress. She saw that eye patch an would not look at my fiancé or speak to him as she usually did. She just took it for granted he'd slugged me. We had to explain to her what happened to get her to relax.
I can only imagine what was going through her head seeing your eye bandaged. Good on you for sharing the real reason because sometimes people don't wanna pry or be "nosey".
