This is a really cool idea, especially now that we can run Waves in Native Mode! I’ll have to look at pulling a spare case and building something similar!
Curious you forgot to mention why you were running an older version Mac. I know I would run an older version for FireWire but I think that Audio Interface is USB.
Are you using Open Sound Meter/SMAART to monitor the room or the audio from the board, e.g. soloing channels? You mention "QBus" and reference tracks. Are you using OSM not simply as an SPL meter but using a reference track & mic to compare the track with what the PA is putting out?
Hey! Sorry for the delay! I am using a RTA in the space but also sending my “cue” bus into a separate RTA so I can see what my audio is doing before it goes out of the console.
Hey bro! Could I ask you a huge huge favour. Would you be willing to spare 5-10 min's with me to chat over phone if I called you? I'm just pretty new to live sound, and just have a few question's regarding incorporating a couple things into the rig. I could send you a few bucks also if you want, but I just really need some help with something, and it's just a few really general questions. It would mean a lot to me.

I also went with an older mac mini mainly because of the price you can get them for, In Sweden you can get a used 2012 Mac Mini for around 100 dollars
Simply just didn’t need a new one for what it was doing.
