It’s just the voices, the harmonies, the blend, the tone of each of their voices. It’s like you can’t do nothing but, just be in awe and get chills all over your body. Lord have mercy!!
Talent this good is timeless!! I hope that Sheila and Valerie read these comments from time to time and see how much their performances are still moving people to this day. Rest in peace Fayette!!!
@@valentinomays3654 and there are plenty of talented musicians today doing their own thing. If anyone needs evidence, check out the NPR Tiny Desk concerts. Absolutely stunning live performances by musicians young and old, new and established, across every genre.
I just stumbled upon a video of these 3 beautiful ladies and I am in awe of their presence as well as their performance. Their voices blend so beautifully together. How am I just finding them in 2024🔥♥️
@@recalcitrantone To be honest, The Jones Girls and The Emotion are phenomenal (Nights over Egypt and Don't ask my neighbour are on my top 50 songs of all time probably. But I feel like those 3 right here are just in a different league vocally. They can all sing lead, and if you listen closely Valerie and Sheila switch Alto and Tenor often in this performance ( plus the harmonies are very very difficult, and I believe Fayette went for Tenor around 5:25 while Valerie went for Soprano ) These 3 are just built different, cuz pulling this thing live is not easy task.
@@vybz974I have to strongly disagree with you on that The three degrees were an older group compared to the Jones girls and naturally as a group had way more experience in public performances but their harmonies and they vocals were not as tight as the Jones girls they always had superior vocals due to The jones girls are sisters and were harmonizing together since childhood and singing gospel in local churches unlike the three degrees that was a group put together by their manager at the time Richard Barret.
Totally agree, the harmony of their voices and they can all lead sing and the do Barry Gordon turned down the mikes on Cindy and Mary and before that Florence to put Diana in the limelight Besides the three degrees survived many many years. 40 plus Yes that are the best
Wow. I've never heard this song covered like this. It's not just the great harmonies but the stage presence and beauty of these women was exceptional. I grew up in the era of "when will I see you again", but when I see videos of that era it blows my mind how musically talented these 3 women were.
They could sing the phone book I love them please thumbs up I love this song I am going to dedicate this song to my friend there will be another dream for me and after all the loves of my life you will still be the one thank you so much for posting please take care of yourself love from Belfast 💓🍀
Donna Summer was a far greater singer than she was given credit for. She was sort of packaged as a sexy disco phenom, but her singing chops were up there among the greats like Sarah Vaughn and Nancy Wilson.
This song was recorded 4 yrs prior to Donna's recording. It's a harmonizing arrangement for a trio sung in a completely different set of keys. Donna's is my favorite but this is a fantastic performance by these talented ladies!
💕💯 I ALWAYS COME BACK TO THIS ONE for me The BEST female group of any era looks Talent stage presence the best voice OLD SCHOOL YES BUT YOU JUST DON'T SEE THIS TODAY these lovely ladies, Sheila FERGUSON Valerie HOLIDAY and Fayette Pinkney displaying their perfectly crafted vocals and choreography which made this song a show-stopper in the 70's Three beautiful women singing harmonies in perfect pitch The Three Degrees Classy, beautiful, graceful, harmonizing at its finest.!!!💕💯
Mighty fiiiiiiine. Thank you for sharing. Never saw this one before. Saw the ones in gold dresses and mint green dresses. All superb performances 🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏
Folks this three part harmony. No way to compare. No debate
Harmony plus three leads from the same group. Musical production and costuming from three fine women. No comparison.
It’s ashame it’s 2024 and I’m just learning who they are ❤
Don't feel bad. I learned about them in the 70's, from that "Sanford and Son" ep., and just now learning they are a real group.
They were famous in European countries,
you got there be thankful for that.
It’s just the voices, the harmonies, the blend, the tone of each of their voices. It’s like you can’t do nothing but, just be in awe and get chills all over your body. Lord have mercy!!
And the wigs!
Talent this good is timeless!! I hope that Sheila and Valerie read these comments from time to time and see how much their performances are still moving people to this day. Rest in peace Fayette!!!
This new generation COULD NEVER!!!!!! Talented, gorgeous….
Stop saying this generation could never. Because with practice and hard work and training they could.

I agree. The real singers are gone, and those who get it get it. These women embody the definition of talent class elegance and pose.
En Vogue were pretty good in their day

They were on a episode of Sanford and Son.
Wow! Gorgeous!❤

Yes that are the best
The fashion, the drama, the stage set up makes me think of my showchoir days
5:50 - 6:26 This version is gorgeous, Fayette just touches my soul here. Very angelic voice, may she rest in peace.
As a little black girl growing up in East London, I wanted to be one of them, anyone.
6:21 Fayette holding it down at the top and always has such expressive singing faces ❤

Angelic!.....awesome voices
I love these girls very much. Fayette, Sheila and Valerie. I love love Fayette on lead vocals.

"They could sing the phone book!" Love it!!! 😀😂🤩 So true
@ 3:40 Makes me shed tears I finally understand.
I like them but no one sings that song like Donna Summer no one!!! But thank you for making think about her. And that voice.

They were definitely the first En Vogue , beautiful harmony and looks.
What amazing video quality! Usually old videotapes from the 1970s look horrible! This beautifully captures an equally beautiful performance!
Amazing , my all time fav girls
Wow never heard of them but there so good elegant and doing one of my faves from Ms.Summer.👑
They actually recorded first .But
Donna Summer remaked the song but they're the originators.
Ahhhhhhhh just AMAZING!!!!!!!
They are my favorite along with the Supremes
This is stunning
Beautiful
Quel trio ! Belle chanson 🎉❤
Today's singers are cute, pretty, sexy gorgeous but are unpleasant to the ears. Yesteryears, the focus was on the audible not on the optics
The optics are pretty darn good here. Beautiful, classy ladies
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!
Nice song and video
the purity of this is beyond this world.
Love this song, love The Three Degrees
Fayette was gold!!
Indeed…super soprano with an extremely wide range.
Wow 🤩 are they still around ?
Yes all 3
When they ask you what superpower you'd select and you choose time travel to be a part of the audience
❤
Thank you for posting this. Beautiful! 💕
That was beautiful!❤ I wonder why I've never heard of them before.
Mighty fiiiiiiine. Thank you for sharing. Never saw this one before. Saw the ones in gold dresses and mint green dresses. All superb performances 🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏

But Better.
@@aunteepsalmsfasting I legit came here to say that 😂
This is the original Destiny's Child. So much better than Destiny's Child.
